Game Night
The Membership Committee invites you to Zeta Chi Omega Game Night on Friday,
May 17. Put on your paraphernalia and come out for a good time. Snacks will be
provided. The location is The Kappa House, 6643 south Kings Hwy., Alexandria, VA.
The cost is just $5. Please pay at the May general body meeting. You may bring up
to two guests.
Cook-Out
Summer is coming! Save the date for the Chapter Cook-Out. It will be
The event will take place on June g from 2:00p.m. - 6:00p.m. at the gorgeous Lake
Accotink Park at 7500 Accotink Park Rd., Springfield, VA. This park offers many
activities as well as beautiful scenery. We plan to have lots of good food and lots of
good fun. The cost will be $10 which can be paid at the May and June general body
meetings. Come out to have some fun and kick off the summer break with your
sorors!

We sent 17 Applications to the corporate office on4/25. They were received on4/26.
We sent copies of the Soror Commitment forms and the list of candidates who
attended the CIS to the RD on the same day.
The corporate office has 20 days to respond. Once they respond with the list of
approved candidates, the Epistoleus will notify the chapter of when we will vote. We
are hoping that we are able to vote during the June general body meeting.
We have been asked to rework the budget by the RD.

It took 60 hours to write, log" produce and edit at $J0 per hour to edir and $35 per hcru to
shoot for a total of $2,000 as an in-kind donation by Ms. Aronica Glover and Soror Reitrin
Mazyck to complete production of the 30 minute Evelyn Syphax Video,.

I am writing this
letter soliciting your endorsement to continue my service on the lnternational Nominating
Committee of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated@ as the Mid-Atlantic Regional Representative.
In 2012,I was proudly elected at the Mid-Atlantic Regional Conference in Norfolk, Virginia to serrye our
beloved sisterhood as your Regional Representative. In this capacity, I worked diligently with the members
of the International Nominating Commiuee by revising the latest addition of "So You Want To Run for
Office" which was published in the fall of 2012. In addition, I successfully presented two workshops for
"Electing Leaders for Global Service" at the last Regional Conference in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.
Prior to my election in 2012,I had the great fortune to serve Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated@ as
a member of Zeta Chi Omega Chapter. I served as the co-chairman of the Membership and Cotillion
Committees. ln 1999, I was appointed Chapter Grammateus and elected as the first Graduate Advisor for
Sigma Alpha Chapter from 2000 -2003. In December 2003,I was installed as the Chapter Basileus and
was re-elected in 2005. During my administration, Zeta Chi Omega Chapter continued the chapter's legacy
of outstanding service by winning the Alma B. Diggs Award for the Largest Attendance at the Regional
Conference, won 2nd Place in the Mid-Atlantic Regional Conference Step Show, received the Janice Mack
Reactivation Award, as well as the honor of winning the One-to-One Outstanding Newsletter Award.
At the Mid-Atlantic Regional Level, I
fundraised
for the Mid-Atlantic Regional Program Showcase in
2001and was honored to receive the Elizabeth Schmoke Randolph Award for Civic Leadership in 2008. In
2003,I presented the technical advancements in the sorority during the fall Cluster meetings as a member of
the Mid-Atlantic Regional Technology Committee. I was also extremely excited to serve as your "Happy
Hodegos" in Richmond at the 201 1 Regional Conference.
I am dedicated to the members of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated@, Zeta Chi Omega Chapter and
the Northern Virginia community at large. At the next general membership meeting, I solicit your continued
suppofi and endorsement as a candidate for the Mid-Atlantic Regional Representative to the International
