Dear Artist, Highlights Thank you for your interest in The Art Market at Historic Honey Horn. This is the sixteenth year for Hilton Head Island to host a fine art and craft show. Over ninety artists were highlighted at last year’s show. The Coastal Discovery Museum will present this juried show at Honey Horn, a sixty-eight acre historic property in the center of Hilton Head Island. This site has hosted the Kiwanis Chili Cookoff and Rib Burnoff, Food & Wine Festival, Relay for Life and many other community events. Sincerely, Coastal Discovery Museum .. Extensive regional and local advertising, direct mail to HHI residents and area residents Additional Information: • Submission of art in more than one category is permissible but an application must be completed for each. • Artists may submit only original artwork. • Artists must submit a total of four (4) slides or digital images with their application. Three (3) slides/imagesper medium and one (1) slide/image of booth set-up. Identify each slide with a number in bottom right corner, your name across top, and medium across bottom. Application Deadline • For digital images, please name each file with your first initial and last name. Indicate your full name and medium on the CD itself. 2016 JPEG file format saved at level 8 if possible. • Digital Specifications: 700 pixels at the widest or deepest dimension, sRGB January color or 11, grayscale, • Work shown in images must be representative of current work and no more than five years old. THE Security Exhibitor Essentials The show site is outdoors at historic Honey Horn on Hilton Head Island. There will be no rain contingency plan, so please plan accordingly. Artists are provided with a 10’ x 10’ space along the edge of a line of century-old oaks on a grassy field. All artists must have their own 10’ x 10’ freestanding tent. All other equipment for set up and display is the artist’s responsibility. Limited storage space will be available between artists’ exhibit spaces. All storage boxes must remain out of sight. Booth assignments are at the discretion of The Coastal Discovery Museum. Security will be provided on site Friday and Saturday nights, however, each artist exhibits at his or her own risk. The Coastal Discovery Museum is not responsible for damage, theft or loss of an individual’s work or personal property. HISTORIC HONEY HORN AT Only artists displaying their original artwork may occupy booths. All work must be attributed solely to the displaying arts. No more than two artists may collaborate on work and proof of legitimate collaboration must be provided at the time of application. Both artists must be listed on application and both must be present during the entire show. Artists are required to show photo identification at checkin and at any time requested during the show. Limited edition prints and giclées are permitted but must be clearly labeled as such. Any work hanging in booth must be framed or gallery wrap canvas. Historic Honey Horn No agents, dealers, or representatives may attend the event in the place of the artist. The Coastal Discovery Museum reserves the right to remove unsuitable works at the time of the show. Booth rental fees will not be refunded. A convenient exhibitors’ parking area will be available for the weekend. Exhibitors may leave trailers on site in a designated area during the weekend. Exhibitors are responsible for establishing their own accounting system for credit card processing. Exhibitors are responsible for collecting the 6% South Carolina sales tax during the festival.
