The meeting was called to order at 10:00 am. The agenda was adopted. The minutes from the June 7, 2014 General Body meeting
were approved as written. There was a quorum present with 301 sorors in attendance.

Welcome sorors to the 2014-2015 sorority year. We return fired up from the Eastern Regional Conference. The delegate
and alternate delegate report will be presented in October. National information from the Regional Conference was
shared.
We were happy to receive our first International Awareness and Involvement Award, Honorable Mention award for
Project ACE, Delta Dear of the Year is C. Gloria Akers and Chapter of the Year (Large) Award. Thanks to the hard work of
the chapter in helping us to receive these honors.
Sorors are encouraged to participate in the chapter events.
A survey will go out soon soliciting the expertise of sorors.

Jazz brunch will be 10/25/14, 11 – 3pm at the North Hills Country Club, Tickets are $55. Tickets can be purchased today.
3 Bids for entertainment were presented. The Fundraising Committee comes with a motion and second to use Ralph
Penn and friends featuring Sheri Wilson Butler as our entertainment for the Jazz Brunch 2014. There was no discussion.
The motion carries 206:0.
The final Conditions Report for the Prayer Breakfast 2014 was presented. The fundraising committee comes with a
motion and a second to accept the financial conditions report from the Prayer Breakfast 2014. There was discussion. The
motion carries 190:0
The speaker has not been confirmed yet for Prayer Breakfast 2015.
The fundraising committee members were acknowledged. Please complete the signup sheets on tables or speak to a

This year we plan to hold JKS conference, financial literacy workshop for Academy, GEMS and EMBODI. Habitat for
Humanity residents will be encouraged to apply for grants. We will also do a volunteer activity with Habitat for Humanity.

and writing encouraging letters

We are soliciting committees, not members to collaborate with the collegiates.

The purpose and goals were shared. The partnering organizations were shared. Locally we’ve partnered with NCNW, AARP, St
Jude’s and UNCF. Much information was shared on this initiative in the Delta Journal.
Policies and Procedures – Evelyn Trent
This is intentionally a small committee. We’ve found that several committees do not have Policies and Procedures. Those chairs
and co-chairs are drafting them now. Next month we will go through various P&P so that sorors are informed of how meetings
should be conducted.

Last year our new website was launched, electronic voting, mechanizing the finance team. Upcoming will be emailing the
skill assessment. If interested in joining, email the Soror Scott. Sorors are encouraged to use the members only section of
the website. We’d like to reduce the amount of money being spent on copies.
