Bertucci, founder of the Credit Union, actively participated in the community’s education by serving as teacher and administrator. He also served as Superintendent for the Jefferson Parish Public School System from 1969–1973. Jefferson Financial Credit Union established the Scholarship Program to encourage high school students to enhance their secular and financial education. The Peter C. Bertucci Scholarship demonstrates the Credit Union’s commitment to give back to our members and the community. The 2015 Scholarship Program will award twelve $1,000 scholarships to members who demonstrate academic excellence, school/community involvement, and are a member of the credit union. The credit union will also present the school of each recipient with $300, and the sponsoring teacher of the student with $100. the High School that each student attended, along with a $100 award made payable to the sponsoring teacher of each recipient. How are recipients selected? Scholarships are awarded to high school seniors that demonstrate academic excellence, community and school involvement, and those who are members of Jefferson Financial Credit Union. The scholarships are available to graduating senior students who are members of Jefferson Financial Credit Union who will enroll in an undergraduate course of study during the 2015-2016 school year at an accredited twoyear or four-year college, university, or vocationaltechnical school in the United States. If you are not a member of JFCU, as a student in Bossier, Caddo, Jefferson, or Livingston Parish or a relative of a current member, you are eligible to join. (Regular employees of the credit union, volunteer committee members, and their families are not eligible.)
