OUTLINE FOR GEJFA SHOOTOUT
FOUR TEAMS TIED
Assumes an otherwise unbreakable tie between four teams for tournament seeds, which
theoretically could be three playoff seeds (second, third and fourth), but at a minimum
and more likely for the fourth seed. Shootouts are only necessary if there are more
teams tied for playoff contention than there are playoff seeds available.
Use cards marked with letters for the draw (“A”, “B”, “C”, “D”). Each head coach picks
a card.
Game 1 A vs B
Game 2 C vs D
Game 3 Loser of 1 vs Loser of 2

Loser of this game is in fourth place

Winner of this game is in third place and may be playing for second
depending of outcome of Game 4
Game 4 Winner of 1 vs Winner of 2

Winner of this game is in first place
