COMMITMENT Billing Made Easier The Apron Billing System has been given a shot-in-the-arm towards higher productivity. The new Apron Billing System was implemented earlier in the year to replace the old system, which was no longer compatible with the newer version of OS used on new PCs. The newly-developed system, which is used for capturing Apron service data (ASR/TSR/Hire forms), has been re-developed on the same web platform as Flight Information System and other GS applications such as EBT, DCIS, BIS and PS Billing systems. This enables users from GS and Finance to access the Apron Billing system through a single platform using the same login as for the other systems. Other advantages include its ability to ease system deployment/maintenance and enhancements to current functionalities. One example is how one main screen is now used for both ASR/TSR creation/update and updating of flights details. Multiple delay codes and reasons can now be captured, and new management reports for one time performance monitoring are now available. The billing module has also been revamped to incorporate new contract setup functionality, which allows Finance to maintain the airline packages with various billing parameters. It also improves the billing process flow by providing additional checks and control such as unbilled transactions and billing interface reports. Managing Vehicle Keys Going The Extra Mile Speedier work flow has come about with the implementation of the Inventory Management System on 7 May 2012 for Apron Operations (AO) department to track the issuance of vehicle keys and equipment to their operation staff for flight handling. Those who do good deeds should never go unrecognised. The AO Key Controller can now issue and register the return of the items by scanning the barcode on the equipment (such as key tags) and staff passes. This not only speeds up the issuance process but information can be more accurately captured compared to the previous method of manual recording. It allows the AO Control Office and Management to check the current location of the inventory and to quickly retrieve issuance and return reports for monitoring and investigation purposes. Usage of this system has since been extended to our Baggage Operations department on 4 July 2012 and implementation is in progress at our Cargo Services Division. Nur Hasunah Abdul Halim is a recent example of a diligent staff, who was acknowledged for going the extra mile. The Acting Customer Services Officer from Budget & Private Jet Handling helped a stranded Indonesian maid. She went out of her way to help her check-in, despite initial hiccups, for the outbound flight on 10 March 2012. Batavia Air Station Manager Suraya Sukiron praised Nur Hasunah for her outstanding service-handling skills. She said: “The role of the ground handler is an extension of the airline. Airlines should not only “talk” service, but should deliver service. This is exactly what Nur Hasunah has done.” For her work-spirited gesture, Nur Hasunah won the Changi Airport Group’s Extra Mile Award. She received a S$200 Changi Dollar Voucher, a trophy and a certificate. Nur Hasunah Abdul Halim – always ready to go the extra mile. 07 CHECKING-IN@dnata Batam Break Just over 100 staff and family members were treated to a relaxing two-day holiday in Batam.
