Cell Organelle Book:
80 Points.
General Requirements: Follow the directions for each organelle. Book should be neat, organized (as
instructed below), colored and legible. All writing and drawings should be neat and legible. Y ou may print
text, pictures or diagrams and attach them to your book neatly with glue. There is a copy of instructions for
folding the book on my webpage. Write your name & biology number on the back cover near the top. Turn
in your book with the grading rubric folded inside.
Front Cover: Animal Cell
Draw an animal cell that includes following parts labeled neatly:
- Cell Membrane
- Nucleus
- Mitochondria
- Ribosomes
-Endoplasmic Reticulum
- Golgi apparatus
- Lysosome
- Centrioles
- Microtubules
Page One: Plasma Membrane
(The page on the back of the cover.)
1. Draw and label a cross-section of a phospholipid bilayer. Be sure the following terms are drawn,
labeled and defined on the page:
- integral protein
- peripheral protein
- phospholipid head
- phospholipid tail
2. Define: Fluid Mosaic Model.
Page Two: Nucleus
Draw, label and define:
- Nucleus (draw it big enough to include the others inside)
- nucleoplasm
- chromosomes
- ribosomes
- nuclear envelope
- nucleolus
Page Three: Mitochondria & Ribosomes
Draw, label and define:
1. Mitochondria:
- cristea
- inner membrane - outer membrane
2. Ribosome:
- large subunit
- small subunit
Describe where they are found in the cell.
Page Four: E.R. & Golgi Apparatus
Draw, label and define:
1. Endoplasmic Reticulum:
- smooth E.R.
- rough E.R.
Where are each type of E.R. found in the cell?
2. Golgi Apparatus:
- Draw and describe.
