Modern Middle East Project - Structure & Research The goal of this project is to create a resource to provide accurate, detailed, and interesting information about a particular topic in a particular country. However, to do this, you must have accurate, detailed, and interesting information, and your readers must understand some basic background information about your country. Follow the sections below to help you accomplish these goals! Part 1 - Background Information/Context To help people understand your topic, start by helping them understand your country. Gather some additional basic information about your country. You will also use your Fact File from the proposal sheet to help you. Take notes in the organizer below - bullet points work great - keep it short & list your sources! Use extra paper if you need more room. Category/Topic Geography - what’s the land like? is there water? what’s the climate like? Government - who’s the leader? what’s his/her title? what kind of government (monarchy, democracy, etc)? Is it stable? Information/Notes Source(s) Category/Topic Information/Notes Source(s) Economy - what kind of imports/exports does it have? is it relatively rich or poor? what’s the per capita GDP if you can find it? Culture - anything you find about how people live can go here - just include a few interesting tidbits of info Interesting Factoids - any other interesting bits of info you find can go here! You will use the information from the chart above & your Fact File to build an introduction/context paragraph about your country.
