Objectives:
• The students will research the earthworm and then write a one-page report on its anatomy and habitat.
• The students will learn about worms and how to dissect them through Video Streaming and virtual
dissections.
• The students will dissect an earthworm.
• The students will locate and describe the different organs of the earthworm.
Overview of Content Standards:
Biology
BIO.5 The student will investigate and understand life functions of archaebacteria, monerans (eubacteria),
protists, fungi, plants, and animals including humans. Key concepts include
a) how their structures and functions vary between and within the kingdoms;
b) comparison of their metabolic activities;
c) analyses of their responses to the environment;
d) maintenance of homeostasis
BIO.7 The student will investigate and understand bases for modern classification systems. Key concepts
include
a) structural similarities among organisms;
b) comparison of developmental stages in different organisms;
c) examination of biochemical similarities and differences among organisms
Computer Technology Standards
C/T8.1 The student will communicate through application
software.
* Compose and edit a multi page document at the keyboard,
using word processing skills and writing process steps.
* Use advanced publishing software, graphics programs,
and scanners to produce page layouts.
C/T8.3 The student will have a basic understanding of computer
processing, storing, retrieval and transmission
technologies and a practical appreciation of the
