ECDL (BCS1 AND BCS2) AND ECDL ADVANCED TEST ONLY
Special features
Those who already possess the skills required for the
syllabus and do not require any further tuition.
This test only option for the ECDL modules will enable
those who have the skills or who have followed
another training or online programme, to gain the Level
1, 2 or 3 unit qualification.
This route is not an alternative to the full study
course and is only for students who have either
studied elsewhere or online and are ready to take the
assessment.
Entry requirements
A course guidance interview will be required prior to
enrolling.
Course content
Following enrolment, you will be sent a practice paper
to help you prepare for the assessment. You will be
allocated sufficient time for taking the assessment
and have 1 hour in the Computer Centre to familiarise
yourself with the practice assessment papers, receive
feedback and ask any further questions before your
formal assessment.
The enrolment fee is payable for each assessment.
In addition for ECDL Advanced modules, a resit
registration fee of £10 is payable to BCS.
ECDL Level 1 Modules:
It Security; IT User Fundamentals; Using Email and
Internet; Database; Presentations; Spreadsheets;
Word Processing.
ECDL Level 2 Modules:
Word Processing; Spreadsheets; Database;
PowerPoint.
ECDL Level 3 Modules:
Word.
Assessment
•ECDL (Level 1 and Level 2) modules and are paper
based assessments.
•ECDL Advanced modules for Database,
Presentations, Spreadsheets and Word Processing
are paper based assessment and marked externally.
