My UMUC Checklist
 Apply to UMUC
Complete the application for admission by visiting www.umuc.edu and clicking “Apply Online.” Once you’ve completed your application you will need to pay
the $50 non-refundable application fee. You should receive an admissions decision from the university within 48 hours of completing your application.
 Apply for Financial Aid
If you’re interested in applying for financial aid, please visit www.fafsa.ed.gov to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). You will
need to have a copy of your tax return for the previous year. Please remember to include UMUC's school code: 011644.
 Provide Official Transcripts from Previous Institutions You Attended
To begin the transfer evaluation process, please send official sealed transcripts from every institution attended. If you have fewer than 24 college credits,
you must also submit an official high school transcript to: University of Maryland University College, Attn: Transcripts, 3501 University Boulevard East,
Adelphi, MD 20783. If you would like to have a preliminary evaluation of your credit completed (using an official or unofficial transcript), an advisor would
be more than happy to complete a Tentative Evaluation (TE) for you. Please keep in mind, this process can take up to three days to complete and serves as
an unofficial evaluation to be used for registration in your first semester.
 Take Your Placement Tests
If you have not taken the equivalent of WRTG 101 and MATH 107, you will need to take a math and writing placement test. For more information, visit
http://www.umuc.edu/students/support/exams/placement.cfm.
 Determine Your Payment Method
Will you be using Financial Aid to pay for courses? If so, have you completed the FAFSA and turned in all required documents? If you would like to use the
interest free monthly payment plan, you can visit www.tuitionpay.com for more information. Using Veterans Benefits? Ensure you have submitted all of
your documentation to our certification office and self-certify through your student portal once you’ve registered for classes.
 Register for Classes
You can now register for classes. We suggest speaking with your advisor before registering for your initial semester. If you have questions, contact us at
800-888-UMUC (8682).
