The golf world has a partner in John Deere. Whether it’s historic U.S. Open sites like
Olympia Fields and Shinnecock Hills, the Open Championship or the Ladies European
Tour, the most prestigious tournaments in golf trust the name John Deere.
Over the years, this partnership has evolved and strengthened, reflecting John Deere’s
commitment to the sport. For almost a decade, we’ve been the “Official Golf Course
Equipment Supplier of the PGA TOUR”, providing a full range of golf equipment to each
of the PGA TOUR’s TPC courses. This vote of confidence has only become stronger.
John Deere is also the PGA Tour’s “Exclusive Irrigation Supplier”. And now, also the
Official Equipment Supplier to the Ladies European Tour.
Perhaps the strongest example of the unity between Deere & Company and the PGA
TOUR is the prestigious John Deere Classic, held each July amidst the rolling hills and
vistas of TPC Deere Run. The tournament and partnership have proved so successful
that both parties have agreed to extend their involvement until 2010.
We consider it the single most important event we do each year. Our Feedback programme
brings hundreds of superintendents and technicians from all around the world together to look
at and survey prototypes and concept machines. They’re encouraged to open every hood
and inspect every nut and bolt. The insight we get from these sessions has impacted
virtually every significant product in the John Deere Golf line. The programme
has proved so invaluable, in fact, that we’ve expanded it worldwide.

The new 8800 TerrainCut Mower is made to easily
handle the rough and semi rough parts of your course.
Besides exceptional climbing power on all models,
the TerrainCut Series Mowers are standard equipped
with the GRIP All-Wheel Drive Traction System for
undulations, hillsides or tight turns. More impressively,
the 7400 TerrainCut offers deep mower decks with a
double-acting yoke system that allows them to pivot
front and back to follow ground contours.
The 2653B Trim and Surrounds Mower features a
traction system which enables it to quickly climb and
mow mounds. Operators of any size will enjoy the
increased legroom. Servicing the 2653B is easy thanks
to on-board diagnostics and parts commonality with
other Deere machines.
The 8800 features five 59 cm (21 in)
independent rotary rear discharge decks
for a total cutting width of 88 inches.
