S ummer Sc hool at M cC om bs S ch ool of B u si ne ss , U niv ersity of Tex as at Austi n Global Business Leadership Institute The McCombs School of Business invites bachelor students to take part in the four-week summer school „Global Business Leadership Institute”, together with students of McCombs and other selected universities. The McCombs School of Business is one of the largest and most distinguished business schools in the United States of America. Mc Combs is one of the few schools in the country to receive top marks in nearly all the business specialty areas ranked annually by U.S. News & World Report – at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. The University of Texas at Austin is in the heart of the city of Austin. The university community provides much of the youthful energy, creative talent and independent spirit that make Austin the unique city that it is. Programme Dates 3 – 28 July 2016 Courses and credit transfer The programme consists of two courses: ‘Management of Cultural Differences‘ (8 ECTS) and ‘International Corporate Management‘ (8 ECTS). Credits can be transferred (for details please see WEX Int. database > View International Options > Summer School Austin) Fees and benefits The programme fee is approx. $3,600. Fees include: • Tuition and classroom materials for two courses • Lodging and 3 meals/day meal plan • Company visits • Cultural and recreational activities Application Please submit your application only via the WEX International outgoings portal of the ZIB WiSo: https://pub.wiso.uni-koeln.de:8443/wex-outgoing/login/auth Eligibility Bachelor students who are enrolled at the WiSo Faculty at least in the third semester of their degree at the time of application. Students need to be enrolled in one of the following degree programmes: • Business Administration • Economics (Minor: Business Administration) • Health Economics • Information Systems Application documents • Letter of interest in English expressing (500 word minimum): - The reason for the student’s interest in studying at McCombs or in Austin - The relevance of the programme for the student’s degree and career interests - What the student hopes to gain from the programme (professionally or personally) • CV in English with Photo • English certificate (TOEFL (iBT min. 87), IELTS (min. 6.0), Cambridge Certificate (min. FCE), WiSo Business English Course Certificate (min. B2-), FILTERtest (min. B2-) • Transcript of grades in English • Student ID Application deadline 15 January 2016 Selection criteria The ZIB WiSo office ranks the applicants based on the overall average grade achieved in their degree. In the case of identical average grades the study speed decides. Where this is also identical, a decision is made by the drawing of lots.
