By participating in the pro- gram, companies receive business assistance at little to no cost, access to a new business-to-business (B2B) network and opportunities to browse and respond to posted purchasing needs. PUREMICHIGANB2B.COM The PMBC B2B website is a free initiative that links Michigan companies with procurement opportunities and business services available from other Michigan companies. Michigan businesses may learn more about the B2B site and register at no cost at puremichiganb2b.com. The following are a few of the benefits to joining the puremichiganb2b.com website: • Track and respond to purchasing needs from both Michi- gan and out-of-state businesses; • Update your company profile with appropriate industry and keyword information so that buyers and potential collaborators can find you; • Request free or significantly reduced business services from the MEDC and Pure Michigan Business Connect strategic partners; • Track and apply to attend invite only purchasing events with companies such as Ford, Chrysler, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Consumers Energy, General Dynamics, DTE, etc.; • Search for collaborators or potential suppliers; and • Post your own company’s purchasing needs. Instructions on Creating an Account: • Go to puremichiganb2b.com and select “Join for Free Today.” • Fill in your email, company name and related information to request membership. Please note your company may already exist in the system and will auto-select pending the spelling. • Once you have requested membership, the MEDC will review your application and respond back within 24 business hours; • If approved, you will receive an email with password information to log in. Please check your spam folder if you do not receive a timely response. • Complete the company details as described below. Instructions on Editing an Account: • Once signed in and at the “Dashboard” page, click on the dropdown in the upper right-hand portion of the screen next to the name of the user. • Select “My Company” from the dropdown list. • Click on the “Edit” button in the upper right-hand corner and alter the information as needed. Please note that the search functionality of the site is driven by the “keywords” field, making this field very important. Instructions on Creating a Purchasing Need: • If new to the site, click on the “Create Purchasing Needs” button under the “Post Your Business Need” section of the B2B home page. • Fill out the form to help describe your purchasing need. Pay particular attention to the three keyword fields, as these will be used to match your need to potential suppli- ers that have entered similar keywords to describe their business. Fill out the form to describe your need. Your contact information will pre-populate, as you have already logged in. Instructions on Applying to a Supplier Summit: From the B2B home page, click on the “Learn More” but- ton under the “Matchmaking Summit” section. Click on the Summit you are interested in.
