POST OPERATIVE INSTRUCTIONS
Nail Procedure
1. Keep dressing clean, dry, and intact until
tomorrow morning. Do not remove the dressing
and do not get it wet.
2. Soak the foot in warm Epsom salt water (1 tbs/qt
of water) twice per day for 2 weeks.
3. Clean the nail edge with hydrogen peroxide after
soaking to remove scab material.
4. Apply band-aid daily. Leave open to air at night
after 1 week. You may stop using the band-aid
after the drainage stops.
5. It is normal to have drainage and slight redness in
the area up to 2 weeks following the procedure as
long as the pain is minimal.
6. Please call the office @ 755-6512 if the toe is not
almost fully healed by 3 weeks following the
procedure or if you have any concerns.
