Maser’s satellite communications solutions include satellite terminals and antennas which are suitable for use with
both VSAT and BGAN networks. This combination of products enables us to offer the most appropriate solution for
any application, and allow for the use of existing infrastructure and future changes.
VSAT Antennas
Cobham’s SATCOM EXPLORER VSAT product portfolio features a broad selection of antennas suitable for a wide
range of applications. The EXPLORER range provides high quality IP-based services that work efficiently across VSAT
satellite links, such as voice communication, radio, data, fax and live video transmission.

Lightweight, rugged, highly portable, and modular mobile terminal capable of Ku, Ka,

Scotty Mobile SATCOM Applications
The SCOTTY system can be configured for
man portable and vehicle use allowing it to
support a wide range of applications. These
include: border and coast patrolling, reconnaissance, search and rescue, situation
awareness,
tele-medicine
and
teleengineering.
SCOTTY’s innovative CODEC design allows
live data to be sent over very narrow bandwidths. This in turn allows a variety of bearers to be used, including 3/4G, ISDN, internet and INMARSAT’s BGAN service. This flexibility ensures users can connect using whichever service is available, while avoiding the higher calls costs of satellite communications where
other, cheaper, methods are available.
The addition of Thuraya IP satellite modems adds a highly portable, low cost option to the system.
SwiftBroadband
The Cobham SwiftBroadband product range facilitates connectivity on aircraft, enabling data networks, internet access, email, fax and telephony. The compact and modular
products allow configurations to fit every size of aircraft.
First in the range is the SwiftBroadband SB200 system.
Apart from its low weight, size and cost, the SB200 is
unique because it is a stand-alone system, not requiring
any navigational inputs from other equipment on board. It
achieves this by combining GPS and Inmarsat antennas in
the same package. The SB200 system consists of an omnidirectional LGA-3000 antenna, one SDU-7310 single channel satellite data unit and the proven HLD-7260 combined
High Power Amplifier/Diplexer/Low Noise Amplifier.
SIP capability allows the connection of smart phones and
tablet devices via Wi Fi.

The range runs through to the SB800 system which delivers the highest performance available for SwiftBroadband service—up to 864kbps via dual channels. The equipment
supports applications such as VPN, e-mail, telephone, and Internet browsing, as well as streaming data applications
like video. Cobham offers six different equipment configurations and even more system options to ensure maximum installation and budget flexibility, and maximum utilization of space.

Highly portable mobile SatCom Terminals
Cobham’s μSat (Microsat) portable VSAT terminals are designed to enable high data rate communications over any Xband military network. Each terminal is contained within a
single carbon fibre and aluminium transportation case; small
enough to be taken on-board a commercial aircraft This
makes them suitable for military, security and disaster response applications. Typical deployment time is less than 2
minutes.
