COURSE DESCRIPTION:
Methodology and techniques for solving engineering/science problems using numerical-analysis
computer-application programs MATLAB and EXCEL. Technical computing and visualization of
problems in mechanics, electrical circuits, thermal systems, fluid systems and other branches of
engineering. Acceptable for credit, UC, CSU, and for CSC 231, 232 Cal Poly.

TESTS/ QUIZZES: NO makeups will be permitted. Problems may come from the textbook, and
suggested homework problems. All work must be shown in order to receive credit and adhere to
the format stated. Quizzes are open book. Tests are normally open book.
RESPONSIBILITY: It is the student's responsibility to drop (if necessary). It is also the student's
responsibility to keep up with the material.

Since I don’t collect homework, these problems are for you to help prepare you for the exams.
These same problems may show up on tests.

¾ Bring a Self Addressed Stamped Envelope (SASE) if you want me to mail you the final
back. I highly suggest that you bring a SASE to the final as unclaimed finals will be
recycled immediatley after I grade the final.
¾ The tests will be held in room 3406-SLO at 4:30 pm unless you are taking them at a
proctoring center.
¾ Quizzes can be found http://blackboard.cuesta.edu/ and are due at 9 pm pst.
REVIEW
I do not have an inperson review session since the videos can be rewatched. I suggest that you
pick a few of the lessons that you didn’t watch or didn’t understand as a review.
ONLINE VIDEOS
The videos that go along with the class can be found at www.YourOtherTeacher.com. This is not
a free site and students wishing to use these videos will need to pay for it.
