Her main areas of practice encompass construction and engineering dispute resolution, as well as front-end construction work involving drafting, reviewing and advising on various bespoke and standard form construction contracts (including those published by the Singapore Institute of Architects (SIA Forms of Contracts), Real Estate Developers’ Association of Singapore (REDAS Design & Build Conditions of Contract) and the Building and Construction Authority (Public Sector Standard Conditions of Contract)), project management and consultancy agreements and construction-related bonds and guarantees. Nikki has acted for developers, consultants and contractors in numerous court actions and arbitrations concerning a myriad of construction issues including delay and disruption, extension of time, liquidated damages, payment, variations, defective works, performance bonds and stay of proceedings in favour of arbitration. Matters of significance which Nikki has been involved in include acting for the Land Transport Authority of Singapore ("LTA") in a dispute relating to the construction of the Circle Line (Singapore’s fourth Mass Rapid Transit line) and in the review of LTA’s construction contracts, including form of tender and collateral warranty relating to the design and construction of stations and tunnels; for project developer, Singapore GP Pte. Ltd., on contractual issues, consultancy and project management agreements, equipment procurement contracts, agreements for lease and licences, and the access control agreement in connection with the Singapore F1 Grand Prix events; for a well-known property developer in a High Court action defending claims for defects in common property, brought by the management corporation of an upmarket condominium in Singapore; and for SATS Ltd. on a concession agreement in relation to the construction of certain facilities at the Abu Dhabi International Airport. Nikki has also worked on matters relating to PPP projects including acting for service providers and advising on structural, procedural and contractual issues in connection with the Singapore Gold Consortium's bid for the Sports Hub PPP, Singapore – the world's first and largest integrated sports facilities infrastructure project and one of Singapore's largest and flagship PPP projects; and for service providers and advising on procedural and contractual issues in connection with a consortium's bid for the ITE West PPP, Singapore – the first educational institution in Singapore to use this form of procurement. Nikki’s other areas of practice includes employment – drafting terms and conditions of employment, termination of employment agreements and advising on release agreements and ex-employee’s claim for severance payment following termination; and Workplace Safety & Health ("WSH") – advising on WSH legislation, drafting and reviewing of WSH policies for developer and construction companies.
