MIDDLE AND UPPER SCHOOL
REQUIRED SUMMER READING LIST 2014-2015
Dear Middle and Upper School Families,
The English Department requires that all Middle and Upper School students fulfil a summer
reading requirement prior to the commencement of the academic year. These texts will be
addressed in class, and students are assessed on them in the opening weeks of the school year.
The texts provide a focus at the beginning of the year and address many of the themes that will
become central to their respective courses. They are readily available at most major bookstores
and on line.
Please note that a set of guiding questions for written responses (due on the first day of
school) is available under separate cover.
Please feel free to contact the Admissions Office if you have any questions regarding the summer reading
requirement or which course you will be taking.
