SIGN UP TO SUCCEED ARTHUR ASHE EDUCATIONAL GUIDANCE PROGRAM CELEBRATING 40 YEARS IN 2010 About New York Junior Tennis League Since 1970, NYJTL has provided comprehensive school and community tennis and educational programs throughout New York’s five boroughs, serving more than 100,000 youth from ages 6-18 each year. The Arthur Ashe Educational Guidance Program (AAEGP) offers free resources to NYJTL participants from starting in elementary school through acceptance into college, Individuals and families receive free educational counseling, visit colleges, and are assisted with the financial aid process leading to college scholarships. NYJTL is the largest tennis and educational-themed community organization in the nation and is celebrating its 40th Anniversary in 2010. Families are assisted with the college admissions, NCAA, and financial aid processes. Essay & Art Arthur Ashe Essay & Art Contest invites children to research Arthur Ashe’s life, work, and ideals. Winners receive US Open tickets and are guests on Arthur Ashe Kids’ Day. Character Counts CURRICULUM AAEGP works with staff to deliver this nationally-renowned character education program that emphasizes trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, fairness, caring and citizenship. Scholarship Monetary resources for high school seniors Specialized Delivers guidance services for middle and high school students including SAT and SHSAT prep courses, math and English language tutoring, job readiness training, college visits and more. Advanced Experienced players receive year-round training, travel to local and national competitions, and entry fees. Arthur Ashe Individuals and families receive educational support, counseling services, and assistance with high school and college admissions and scholarships. Community Free tennis instruction, practice, and match play for children ages 6-18 years old. Includes special trips and events.
