Ridgeview Farm Bob & Jami Goble A very Blessed Life Definite Difference XIII Sunday, October 12, 2014 - 12 p.m. (est) At the Farm - Alto, Michigan Ridgeview Farm 11554-100th Street Alto MI 49302 jami@ridgeviewfarm-goble.com Bob & Jami Goble Bob’s cell # 616-299-8681 Jami’s cell # 616-366-6533 Vince’s cell # 616-558-1892 www.ridgeviewfarm-goble.com Greetings, Change is in the air. As the leaves will soon begin to fall and the landscape turns from bright green to deep red, we get ready to welcome you to Definite Difference XIII. As the seasons transform, our family is getting ready for some changes as well. Hailey moved into Olivet College in August to study Ag Risk Management and Insurance. Max has developed a real knack for shooting sports and archery and is going into 8th grade. Our big 5th grader Grant was diagnosed with diabetes in July, but frequently tells his mom to “chill out” and “relax, i’m fine”. Nolan is going into the 3rd grade, but still has that blossoming attitude of a 16 year old that we all know and love. My wife Jami finished up our new house, and between chasing the kids and keeping track of the paperwork, she still finds time to put delicious food on our table. Though time is flying by, life is looking pretty good. Our consignors are back and the cattle are looking better than ever. We welcome back Cutler’s Little Farm, Harris Creek Herefords and John Parks Farm, Dave & Vicky Rollins and for the first time Landrum Family Farm, and Maple Ridge are bringing their best to our table. With genetics from all across the board we come together with one common goal in mind, to bring a definite difference to your herd. We are very excited about the offering that we are bringing to you this year. Some highlights include Nolan’s powerhouse show heifer who really made a name for herself at Canadian Junior Nationals, and amazing herd bulls coming off Brite Expectations, who sired the Canadian Junior National Supreme Champion Female. The cattle up for sale are at the forefront of genetic excellence, and with good EPD’s and phenotypes, there is no reason to hold onto old, problematic cows with this good of quality on the market. I stand behind what I sell and hope that what you see on the second Sunday in October will solidify your place within the Hereford breed. And last but certainly not least, a special thank you to Vince Fischer. We appreciate not only his constant care of the farm, but his friendship as well. We cherish our friends and those who help to make this sale a success every year. Thank you. We would love to see you at the farm in October and are looking forward to an excellent weekend of quality cattle, friendship and hospitality. Lot 1A STAR MKS Western Peach 133R et Dam of Lot 1A - 1F CHOICE LOT What a valuable opportunity to invest in a future donor. This combination of the legendary female sire “P606” whose semen is now rare and our proven and productive donor “Peaches” is a once in a lifetime opportunity. The maternal value here is unlimited and the milk EPD backs this up. The Western Star cow family produced an untold number of high sellers at Star Lake including the famed champion and herd sire “ Star America”. These ladies are young and in the typical fashion of the P606s they will only grow in quality as they mature into beautiful cows. Lot 1B GOBLE Miss Thing 237Y Maternal Sister to Lot 1A - 1F PW Victor Boomer P606 Sire of Lot 1A & 1B Lot 1F Lot 1C Lot 1E CHOICE LOT There are more than one of these May babies that can wear a show halter. Their sire is gaining in popularity each day as his progeny continue to win, his sons sell easily and his daughters are pleasing the most discriminating cattlemen. We got growth, style and quality from this mating as the pedigree indicates. The Peaches family brings a great Hereford story of proven production and market acceptance. These will be easy to promote for the long haul and even easier to admire while in the cow pasture. Lot 1D AH JDH Cracker Jack 26U Sire of Lots 1C - 1F Lot 2A DKF RO Cash Flow 0245 et Sire of lots 2A, 2B, 3 &4 Choice Lot Two for the money, two for the show! Usually we don’t care for twins but here is an exception as both of these gals are really quite good and in different divisions as one is polled and one is horned. They are paternal sisters to the 2014 Denver champion bull “Who Maker”. Their sire “Cash Flow” is a popular A.I. sire that consistently does a top end breeding job. Their dam is by the popular Outcross. She produced a high seller in our sale a couple years ago so these are no accident. Birth weights: 75 pounds each. Maternal Sister sold for $9750 in 2012 Res. Hereford Heifer 2012 IN Beef Congress Lot 2B CSF 18U Cheyanna 0304 Dam of Lot 2A & 2B Lot 3 RVP 122L It’s A Wrap 1107W Dam of Lot 3 Birth weight 85 pounds. We like our results with “Cash Flow”. Every calf has been born easily, been high quality and marketable. This one has an exceptional dam in 1107. She was our selection in the River Valley sale in Ontario in 2012 where she was a sale feature. She is one cow that may not leave our program as long as she is still standing. This calf is really long fronted, long bodied and soggy made. She is one that will show, feed easily and be a brood cow when finished. Materinal Sib to Lot 4 Lot 44 Lot JPF K01 Honey U30 Dam of Lot 4 Definitely one of the top prospects! This one has a special mom. She is as productive as any we own and should transmit these qualities to her daughter. Combining U30 and Cash Flow creates a strong genetic package with balanced numbers. Breed greats About Time, Durango, Ozzie, Embracer 8006 and Mallory 47J are represented here. This girl has the quality to match. GCC JPF LBB Enticer A117 Maternal Sib to Lot 5 JPF Ellory Y317 Maternal Sib to Lot 5 Sold in 2013 to Bob Duis One of the last Battle Chiefs and a well bred one top and bottom. Her dam is also the dam of Andy Lamb’s new herd sire “Enticer”. A maternal sister who is also a full sister to Enticer is our best two year old. This one is pretty enough to show and for sure bred to be a front pasture cow Dam of Lot 6 LOT 6 Her mother is a two year old that we just aren’t ready to sell since she is the full sister to Andy Lamb’s herd sire Enticer and a maternal sister to the dam of lot 5 This is another example of why we used 244. This heifer is young, attractive and out of a young cow that has a tremendous future here. We want a herd full like her two year old mom. LOT 7 Selling full interest and full possession. Here we offer a rare and valuable opportunity to purchase a proven, young son of the popular National champion About Time whose semen is scarce and expensive. “Buying Time” was selected from the Lowderman program as a calf to use on heifers when we were short a bull. He is sound, dark red, long and correct. He has done everything correctly as his calves came easy, were thrifty and have the quality we demand. We offer him for sale because we strive to raise and use primarily our own breeding for walking bulls. LOT 8 She is sired by Bright Expectations who also sired the 2014 Canadian Junior National champion heifer for Max Goble. Her grandmother works for Baker’s Polled Hereford’s in Wisconsin while her dam remains in our herd as one of Hailey’s cows. We should be keeping this one for Hailey to show in the bred and owned class. GRF Jade 926 Grandmother of Lot 8 LOT LOT 9 9A LAKE 002 Kilowatts 104S Sire of Lot 10 A feature lot and Nolan’s show heifer that won her class and was reserve division at the 2014 Canadian Junior National. LOT 10 This pigmented fall heifer calf is the last natural service calf by Kilowatts. She is selling only because we don’t normally calve in the fall. She is correct, complete and is a super cow prospect as the Kilowatts, Battle Chief and Git-R-Done females are all noted for pretty udders and milk. LOT 11A Bred April 29 to NJW 73S M326 Trust 100W/ Safe in calf * This March show prospect just may be our best heifer. Her pedigree is strong from top to bottom as she stacks P606 and Nasdaq which are full brothers. The Jewell family from JJD was Detweiler’s strongest donor family. Colonel adds tremendous growth genetics which rounds out this sweet package. Phenotypically the heifer is beautiful with red eyes, dark color and style.
