STEP 3-A: Enroll in Classes STEP 3-B: Attend PN Info. Session Begin taking required GeneralEd courses. (See back) Try to complete these prior to the start of the clinical PN program. If not completed before, most st must be done in the 1 semester of the program. More details on back. Attendance is required at ONE Information Session about Practical Nursing at SVCC. Sessions occur regularly throughout our service area. You may attend at any location; information applies to all of our PN Programs. You will receive a certificate of attendance to attach to your application. This test can be taken only 3 times in a year. You DO need to prepare for this test! Our bookstores carry a study manual specific to this test. The TEAS test must be taken before submitting your application. The June 15 date takes effect for August 2016. August 2015 program deadline remains May 15! STEP 5: Requirements after acceptance into PN Program Attend Mandatory Orientation Meeting (details in acceptance letter) CPR Requirement: (May met through HLT 100, or may be done in the community. Must be complete BEFORE the 1st semester of the clinical program!) Present current American Heart Association CPR card for Health Care Providers to instructor on first day of PNE 161. Health Requirement: Medical examination and immunizations: Form available at http://southside.edu/nursing/practical-nursing-forms This is due to instructor no later than the first day of PNE 161. Criminal Background Check Requirement and Urine Drug Screen (to be done after provisional acceptance- details at orientation!) See Va.
