PHLEBOTOMY TECHNICIAN

BACKGROUND CHECK REQUIRED FOR PROGRAM ENTRANCE
COST: $39 (background check cost is not included within tuition cost
and is processed online through Verified Credentials)
This comprehensive program is designed to allow students to become as
a Phlebotomy Technician. Students will be prepared to collect blood specimens from clients for the purpose of laboratory analysis & become familiar
with all aspects related to blood collection & develop comprehensive skills to
perform venipunctures completely & safely. Classroom & lab work includes
terminology, anatomy, physiology; blood collection procedures; specimen
hands-on practice; CPR training & clinical training in skills & techniques to
perform puncture methods. In addition to classroom hours, the program includes on-site clinicals - which is required for certification for phlebotomists.
Upon completion of the program, students will obtain an National Career
Readiness Certificate (CRC) & sit for the Certified Phlebotomy Tech (CPT)
exam given through NHA (National Healthcareer Association).

WELDING TECHNOLOGY
Total Cost: $5,500
(includes textbooks, supplies, and fees)
TU/TH, September 20, 2016 - August 31, 2017
TU/TH, 6:00 - 10:00pm and some SA each month, 8:00am-2:00pm
Location: Marshall Technical School, Guntersville
Welding is a high-tech industry that can take you places all over the world.
Welds are everywhere, from ladders to aircraft carriers, from NASCAR to
national defense, and from laboratory to sales and repair, the varied welding
industry impacts virtually every industry. Few career choices offer so many
options for employment and opportunity for growth. Snead State Community College’s Welding Technology will prepare students to enter the high-tech
industry of welding. The curriculum includes training in Stick, MIG (solid
wire & flux core) and TIG welding. Our curriculum was developed by the NaƟonal Center for ConstrucƟon EducaƟon and Research, www.nccer.org, and was
created by Subject Matter Experts to ensure exceptional training programs
that are set to industry standards. NCCER maintains a portable and nationally
recognized credentialing system by providing transcripts,certificates and
wallet cards to students who successfully complete the curriculum through
an accredited sponsor. NCCER’s training process of accreditation, instructor certification, standardized curriculum, national registry, assessment and
certification is a key element in developing a skilled workforce of construction professionals. The program also covers 10 hour OSHA safety training
and employability skills. Upon completion of this program students will receive: Welding Technology Certificate, NCCER CerƟficaƟon, National Career
Readiness Certificate, Forklift Training, OSHA 10 hour Occupatonal Safety
and Health Training card and one AWS certification process of choice.

This comprehensive program is designed to allow students to become
trained as a Clinical Medical Assistant, with the option of Phlebotomy
Technician, within one program. Having skills sets from two career paths
will create an individual that is more marketable within the healthcare field.
Upon completion of the program, students will obtain an National Career
Readiness Certificate (CRC) & sit for the Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) and the Certified Phlebotomy Tech (CPT) exams given
through NHA (National Healthcareer Association). The clinical medical
assistant session prepares students to function effectively in many of the
administrative/clerical & medical assistant clinical positions in the healthcare industry. This instruction covers important background information on
anatomy & physiology, medical terminology, clinical knowledge to include
blood pressure checks, using a stethoscope, urine analysis, basic insurance billing aspects, medical ethics, customer service & legal aspects.

Snead State is an approved testing site with NHA (National Healthcare
Association). Possessing a national certification proves your commitment
to your chosen profession and can help individuals obtain better
pay, career opportunities, and job security. Snead State offers the
following certifications for persons who have received training, or
work experience, in the certifying field of healthcare:
