OF INTERIOR DESIGN AND DECORATION
WHAT IS IT?
Interior Decoration is an industry which requires
creativity and the ability to work to a client’s needs and
guidelines. This certificate will be your first step towards
working for a retail store or shop fitters or a design and
decoration consultancy or being self-employed.
You will learn how to work with suppliers and specify
finishes, soft and hard materials, fixtures and furniture. We
will teach you design project management skills and how
to apply CAD applications to documents and illustrate your
design proposals.

semesters (one academic year)
Design Small to Medium Scale commercial/ Institutional Interiors
Establish, negotiate and refine a design brief
Evaluate site for Interior Design Brief Refine drawing and other visual representation tools
Research and Apply Techniques for Illustrative Work
Research Interior Design and Decoration Influences
Source and apply design industry knowledge
Specify soft furnishing for a complete interior solution
Use Cad applications to complete models and documentation for Interior
design projects
Study Pathways
On completion of a Diploma you can continue on to a
university degree with exemptions
