Auburn University Lights Campus Up Pink for Breast
Cancer Awareness Month
Auburn, Ala. – On October 3, 2013 Auburn University will work together with Zeta Tau Alpha
Sorority to light up popular buildings on Auburn’s campus for Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
The event, in its seventh year now, will take place from
7:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Cater Hall lawn on Auburn’s
campus. The event will feature appearances of
representatives from the American Cancer Society and
Relay for Life, and brief speeches from Jenny Swaim and
two mothers of current members of Zeta Tau Alpha.
Speakers will discuss the importance of early detection and
there will be a breast cancer survivor recognition.

Swaim is the head of a Breast Cancer Survivor Support Group on campus and will provide the
audience with statistics and information about breast cancer. She will also explain the
mammogram service that the university provides to its employees on campus.
