No. 12 HOUSE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION 1 Family WHEREAS, and friends will forever treasure their 2 memories of Franklin Joseph Homer, Sr. , of Par is, Texas, who passed 3 away on August 16, 2012, at the age of 77; and WHEREAS, Frank Homer was born on May 1, 1935, in McAlester, 4 5 Oklahoma, 6 graduating 7 Oklahoma State University; and Nimrod from WHEREAS, 8 9 to Bernsasky in and McAlester Mr. 1958, Homer Sabina Victoria High was School, Stizza he went Homer; on to after attend joined in marriage with Molly Jo and they shared a loving relationship that 10 spanned more than 54 years; he was a caring father 11 children, 12 pleasure of seeing his family grow to include 11 grandchildren and a 13 great-granddaughter; and 14 Karen, Mark, Frank, and Monica, to his four and he later had the WHEREAS, A pioneering businessman, Mr. Homer opened the first 15 Sonic Drive-In franchise in the State of Texas, which began 16 operations in Paris in 1964; he later expanded his holdings to 17 include a total of 14 Sonic locations in the Lone Star State as well 18 as others in Oklahoma and Florida; and WHEREAS, Mr. Homer was deeply engaged in the civic life of 19 20 Par is, serving as the director of 21 Commerce and the Boys Club of Paris and as a member of the advisory 22 board of St. Joseph's Hospital; he also played a prominent role in 23 the congregation at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church, and the 24 concern and support he showed for the Lamar his County Chamber fellow residents made 1 - - - - - -- - -- --------· -- of a H.C.R.
