Frequently Asked Questions
How To Succeed As An eCampus Student
TROY Truths
Can a virtual classroom deliver the same
high-quality education as a traditional
classroom? Through Troy University’s
eCampus, the answer is YES. Although you
may never meet your classmates, online
classes offer the opportunity to participate
in class projects and actively communicate
among students. Troy University’s eCampus
programs are designed to support students
both locally and around the globe, offering
your future on your terms.
Troy University is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the
Southern Association of Colleges and Schools to award associate,
bachelor’s, master’s and education specialist degrees. Contact the
Commission on Colleges at 1866 Southern Lane, Decatur, Georgia
30033-4097 or call 404-679-4500 for questions regarding the
accreditation status of the institution or if there is evidence that
appears to support Troy University’s significant non-compliance
with a requirement or standard.

Degree Programs:
brings you closer to
earning a degree.
How is eCampus different from a
traditional classroom setting?
Courses offered through Troy University’s
eCampus have the same high academic
standards as other Troy University courses.
Students enrolled in distance-learning
courses through eCampus must complete
the same or comparable requirements as
students in traditional classes. Because of
the flexible scheduling, you must be
responsible, self-motivated and a selfstarter to complete required assignments
on time.
What is Distance Learning?
Distance learning enables any student,
regardless of age or location, to earn
an accredited college education. Our
distance-learning programs are growing
rapidly due to the increased demand
from working adult students for courses
delivered on an “any time-any place” basis.
For more information about a particular
program, visit our Web site troy.edu
and click on eCampus.
What are Distance-Learning courses like?
Several course delivery methods are used
to reach students around the world. The
courses are Internet-based and use e-mail,
electronic bulletin boards, chat rooms,
online mini-lectures and other Web-based
interactive lessons.

Are You a Good Candidate for Troy University
? A short quiz –
"TROY is the first university that has offered me the
opportunity to fulfill my goal of returning to college
via distance learning. What's even greater is my
spouse was able to enter the eArmyU program. He
and I both received our associate degrees in
December 2003. It was a very special moment in
my life for us to walk across that stage together.
Now we are pursuing our Bachelor’s degrees."
Denise Binder, Military Spouse
"I am nearing the halfway point of my master's program. The faculty are extraordinarily capable of relating information in a readily usable format. They've always
shown a genuine concern for my best interest. Finding the time and a convenient
location to take the needed courses could've been an overwhelming task were it
not for the willingness and resourcefulness of Troy
University to establish an accessible and centrally
located remote classroom site. Although I work full
time and the coursework is demanding, the
program has been very rewarding. I encourage
anyone considering graduate-level study to
consider Troy University."
Randy Mueller, Librarian and Single Father

information supplied.
3. Choose the statement that better describes you.
A. I will usually see a project through no
matter how difficult it is or how
many other projects are demanding
my time.

time if I’ve hit a stumbling block or
have other projects to work on.
6. Choose the statement that better
describes you.
A. When I’m curious about something,
