Get notes from any missed classes and ask for help on what you can’t get. 2) Pay attention in class. Ask lots of questions. Ask her to slow down if you don’t understand. Listen for what she tells you that students forget or mess up on during the test and be sure not to fall into those traps. Show up on time or you miss a lot of the basic information. 3) Do the practice problems in the book as soon as possible after class. Keep doing them until you don’t need to look at the notes for help. Don’t wait until the test to start attempting them! The course is easy at the beginning, so you may want to slack off. DON’T! 4) Get a study buddy. Sometimes another person can help explain something in a way you hadn’t considered. 5) If you feel like you are lost or falling behind, get help ASAP. If you have any questions, don’t be afraid to go see Ms. Boito. 6) Don’t over-think things. Most of the time the concept is much less complex than you think. 7) Do all of the review sheets. Make sure you do the exam reviews before they are done in class. 8) Be sure you have a calculator and know how to use it. 9) Do the extra credit – it is worth it!!! 10) Don’t listen to the horror stories about how terrible stat is. Don’t give up. The material isn’t that hard if you take the time to study. Remember – it’s not SADISTICS, it’s Statistics! You can do it as long as you work at it. 3
