New machines and new friends, old machines
and old friends. With the new comes excitement, with the old comes certainty. Both
should be embraced and enjoyed to the fullest.
We understand when you don’t want to give up
your old machine for a new one, just like you
wouldn’t want to give up an old friend for a new
one. Why would you? Just like you add a new
friend to your family of friends, you can just add a new exciting Bernina to
your family of sewing machines! :)
Now in the beginning of our third year we can say we have some “middleaged” friends (all young at heart), have machines spanning decades, and are
blessed to enjoy making new friends and getting new machines (see the front
cover). If that isn’t enough change, cycling through several thousand bolts
of new fabric every year is quite a ride.
Speaking of new friends, in order to insure the best service possible we have
also added two new staff members in the last few months. Please welcome
Kathryn and Nicole. It has certainly been fun to watch you play “stump the
new employee” with them!
Finally, let us all rejoice in the season and in each other as we celebrate all
that has been provided for us.

The Quilting Bee offers Mastery classes for Bernina owners to help you learn to
operate and maintain your sewing, embroidery, or serger machine. These classes
are free of charge and may be taken as often as you feel necessary to get comfortable using your machine.
REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED.
Required Supplies: Mastery workbook (available for purchase or you may print
your own from a provided CD), fabric kit (provided by the QB)
Please bring: Your machine, power cord, foot control, Bernina bobbin, all accessories, manual, scissors, thread, ruler, seam ripper, and note-taking supplies.
NOTE: If you do not have a current machine model, please call to inquire about
your Mastery options. You may require a one-on-one session. Mastery is limited to Bernina machines only but we are happy to accomodate other machines,

Did you know...Not all machine maintenance is meant for
our incredible tech David. There are many things YOU can
do at home to keep your sewing machine running its very
best.
Oil your machine after every 2 bobbins of sewing. Just one drop placed
in the groove of your bobbin area will make a marked difference in the
smoothness of your machine. 8-Series machines should oil before every
sewing session as well as after every 2 bobbins.
Change your needle! Many people don’t change one until it breaks. But
changing your needle every 6 bobbins (or when it starts making noise) will
allow your machine to make the most efficient stitch.
Clean the lint from the bobbin area and feed dogs.

Class Policies:
1. Classes fill quickly! Register early to guarantee your space in class. Class fee is required to register.
2. The Quilting Bee typically accepts only 8 students per class. If a class fills, we can
place you on the waiting list and contact you if an additional session is added.
3. If you are unable to attend class we are happy to transfer you to another class or issue
a gift certificate!
4. Phone registrations are taken with credit or debit card payment only.
5. No children, babies, or cell phones are allowed in class. Please respect the learning
environment, both for yourself, the instructor, and other students.
6. Upon registering, you will be given a supply list for each class. Read it completely and
see what, if any, preparations need to be done ahead of time. Kits are available for
some classes and fabric in kits may vary.
7. Please arrive 15 minutes prior to class time to set up. Classes start on time. Please
have supplies purchased prior to class.
8. If you take 8 QB classes, you will receive one free (up to $40 value).

BEE MODERN at The Quilting Bee
If the fresh, contemporary look of modern quilts excites you, try your hand at
