Synopsis / Summary:
This book is about a girl named Dorothy. She lived with her aunt and uncle in
America. One day, she played with her dog Toto in the garden and there was a
cyclone. Dorothy didn’t have time to escape so she lay down with Toto, closed her
eyes and fell asleep.
When she woke up, she found there was bright sunlight coming through the
window. She opened the window and met an old little woman and some strange little
people. Dorothy wanted the old witch to help her return home but she needed
Dorothy to find the Witch of Oz. Then Dorothy followed the yellow brick road and
began the journey with Toto. Suddenly, she met a scarecrow in the field. The
scarecrow wanted to have a brain so he followed Dorothy to find the witch. After a
while, they met a tin man in a park. The tin man wanted to have a heart so he
followed Dorothy too. Then they met a lion on the way to the witch. The lion wanted
the witch to give him courage. So they walked together. On the way, the witch caught
Dorothy. She poured some hot water on the witch and she died. Dorothy and her
friends met the witch and the witch gave them what they wanted.
Personal Reflection:
After reading this story, I think that it is really interesting. It is also a magical
story so I love it very much.
I like Tin Man the most. Although he does not have a heart, he is so helpful.
When Dorothy is in danger, he first helps her out. I really enjoy reading these pages. I
love the story and it makes me laugh when I am reading it. It is quite a lovely story.
