The Town of Rose Hill and the Rose Hill Chamber of Commerce are
incredibly proud of the new entertainment pavilion and grounds in
Rose Hill. The Pavilion, the largest outdoor pavilion in Duplin
County, was constructed by Chamber member Clint Blanton
Construction in 2012 and was used for the 2012 and 2013 Poultry
Jubilees. The bands who have played at the Jubilee have all
commented and made remarks such as, “This is the best venue that
we have ever played”, “This is the best stage we have ever played
on”, and The Breeze Band, who played at the 2013 NC Poultry Jubilee
even wrote a letter to the editor of our local newspaper, stating how
nice the stage was and how much they enjoyed their time in Rose
Hill. This year the Town further improved the site by taking up the
remnants of old tennis courts and replacing them with sodded grass.
A new concrete dance floor was poured in front of the stage as well
as concrete walkways around the perimeter of the stage. New aerial
lighting was installed on the grounds adjoining the pavilion site
making it a perfect place for an evening event.
We hope you all enjoy your Thanksgiving and
Christmas traditions with your families and friends
this year. We would like to invite you to start a new
holiday tradition by joining us for:

Chamber Membership Facts
The results are in, and the facts show that when a business is active in its local chamber it is doing the right thing, not only for
the community, but for its own success.
A national study (The Real Value of Joining a Local Chamber of Commerce, ACCE, 2007*) reveals that membership in a local
chamber of commerce can significantly boost a company’s image among consumers, as well as among other businesses.
Just the Facts
· When consumers know that a small business is a member of the local chamber they are 63% more likely to patronize the
business in the future and 44% more likely to think favorably of the business.
· When consumers know that a restaurant franchise, for example, is a member of the chamber of commerce, they are 50%
more likely to eat at the franchise more often.
· When consumers know that an insurance company, as another example, is a member of the chamber of commerce, they
are 43% more likely to consider buying insurance from it.
· When consumers know that an auto manufacturer, as a final example, is a member of the chamber of commerce, they are
9% more likely to consider purchasing their next car from that company.
Obviously, both small local businesses and larger national companies benefit from the credibility and enhanced image
Chamber membership brings to them

F.L.O.C.K.
Rose Hill Women’s Club
Four years ago Bob Johnson and the House of Raeford Farms employees
organized F.L.O.C.K. (Faithful Love Offering for Christ’s Kingdom), a non-profit
501(c)3 corporation. The mission was to responsibly distributing its resources
to help meet needs of House of Raeford associates, local communities where
the company has operations, and other worthwhile ministries with likeminded
objectives. Local F.L.O.C.K. teams have been established in company
operations across the southeast U. S.

For the second consecutive year, House of Raeford Farms’ associates in Rose
Hill and Wallace, NC packed meals for Stop Hunger Now, reaching a goal of
30,000 meals destined for school children in Haiti. The event was held on
August 10 and attracted over 60 volunteers from House of Raeford’s two local
chicken processing plants, live production operations, and Wallace-Rose Hill
High School. In addition to the volunteer work, employees and the company
contributed $7,500 to offset the cost of ingredients.

“Every day you may make progress. Every step may be fruitful. Yet there will stretch out before you an
ever-lengthening, ever-ascending, ever-improving path. You know you will never get to the end of the
journey. But this, so far from discouraging, only adds to the joy and glory of the climb.”

The Trading Company of Rose Hill
The Trading Company of Rose Hill opened for business in 1918 and is the
longest running business in Duplin County. Wally and Tweetie Short purchased The Trading Company in April 2011.
Wally and Tweetie have kept that friendly small town atmosphere along with the personal customer service that has

might expect to find in a rural small town’s hardware store, you will now be amazed to find a 2,000+ square ft. “gun”
show room which houses over 500 guns, accessories, and a large selection of ammunition. Their collection of guns,
include shotguns, rifles, military, tactical, and pistols. They have a 90 day (no-cost) lay-away plan for guns and they

square foot lawn and garden center, excepted to open 2014.
