In 2010, we bring to the market four key new models and
numerous refinements. That’s part of the Yamaha Advantage: the
relentless pursuit of the perfect sled, whether on the trail or off.
The new FX Nytro MTX SE 162 and Nytro MTX SE 153 models
lead the charge up the hill. Both have been re-engineered radically to set them apart from any other sled on the snow today.
They’re significantly lighter than the 2009 Nytro MTX 153 – the
MTX SE 162 model is about 17 pounds lighter and the MTX SE is
about 21 pounds lighter! That means awesome flotation and hill
climbing ability, as much as 8 to 10 sled lengths on the hill.
On the trail, the new fuel-injected RS Vector GT and RS Vector
LTX GT redefine comfort, convenience, and performance in the
trail cruising class. The Genesis 120FI engine and a new Mono
Shock® II RA rear suspension reset the standard by which all
trail sleds will be judged.

sanctioned race event or just you and your buddies
engaged in a little friendly competition on the local

When the Pro Open snocross sleds launched off the starting line this winter, amid the tinny buzz of the oil-burning 2-stroke sleds, you could hear
the deep throaty growl of Yamaha’s 4-stroke FX Nytro race machine. And it was common to see the blue FX Nytro get to the first corner before the rest
of the pack. “One of the biggest differences between the 2-stroke sleds and the 4-stroke Yamaha is its amazing torque,” explained pro racer Steve
Taylor. “It just seems like an endless amount of power to launch the sled off the line and out of the corners.”

Trail blasting enthusiasts love how a 121-inch track sled handles around corners. The short
wheelbase gives these sleds excellent handling characteristics. Yamaha has engineered the new

The all-new FX Nytro MTX SE 162 and 153 models are
mountain sleds designed by mountain riders for mountain
riders. Every bit of fresh engineering in these two models is
made with the specific goal of getting you up on top of the
snow quickly, letting you set the highmark, and improving
your overall snowmobility.
The heart of these new mountain sleds is the all-new
ProMountain® Air rear suspension. Its shallow 18° track approach angle, a pair of lightweight
Fox FLOAT 2 shocks, ice scratchers instead of wheels, and the semi-coupled design all work
together to deliver the goods for the steep and deep. (See facing page for more exciting
details!)
The aggressive, lightweight and reliable 11° tunnel gives you excellent snow clearance to
help keep you from hanging up in fresh powder or on a sidehill. Plus, the large slash cuts let
you stomp out any snow that builds up on the running boards.
Up front, the wide FXG2 front suspension uses another pair of high-tech FLOAT 2 air shocks
to deliver great rough mountain trail manners. We eliminated the sway bar for the MTX SE,
allowing the A-arms more freedom to act individually when you’re sidehilling or just carving
around the bowls.
Tallied up, the all-new FX Nytro MTX SE 162 is estimated to be about 17 pounds lighter than
the 2009 FX Nytro MTX 153, with the new Nytro MTX SE 153 coming about 21 pounds lighter!
Both are significantly better in the steep and deep, too!

The all-new ProMountain® Air, in either 162- or 153-inch configuration, is a true mountain rear suspension. Engineering priority targeted both powder performance and light weight. By starting with a clean sheet of paper, we engineered
out a lot of weight without sacrificing reliability and engineered in the best deep-snow performance we’ve ever had.
Machined rails minimize mass and help create our shallow 18° track approach angle. That low angle makes the
whole sled get up on top of the snow fast and is also efficient in building track speed. Track speed means great climbing
ability. Ice scratchers keep the rails lubricated on the trail, and eliminate heavy idler wheel assemblies.
The ProMountain Air suspension is semi-coupled. This allows the skid to operate with greater independence than a
fully coupled design, giving the sled astounding deep powder capabilities.
Our close relationship with Fox® helped us develop the industry’s first-ever springless snowmobile suspension—no
heavy steel coil springs and no heavy steel torsion springs! High tech FLOAT™ 2 air shocks control both the front and rear
suspensions, with a trick new FLOAT 2 XV on the ProMountain Air’s rear arm. The XV cylinder adds extra volume for ideal
spring force character, which means awesome performance and comfort.
We also worked with Camoplast to develop a new durometer material for the track that is closer to the elastic
state of rubber, which means the 2.25-inch lugs will resist permanent curling. The new, reliable, single-ply design is
lightweight to further aid track speed. The new track is available in a new, high-performance 15 x 162-inch dimension
for loose powder and hillclimbing junkies, and in a 15 x 153-inch configuration for boondockers and western slope riders
who tend to ride in more set-up snow conditions.

The new rear suspension systems on the RS Vector GT and RS Vector LTX GT have been
reengineered for ultimate durability and convenience. You’ll enjoy such ease-of-use design
elements as the reversed track tensioner block. The new block has the adjuster bolt on the
forward side of the sled, eliminating the need to perform routine maintenance through the
