From the President

Every year I look forward to the annual awards banquet. It gives me a chance to see great projects, friends, colleagues and professionals committed to the concrete industry.

I hope this year is no exception and we will have some excellent project entries.

I want to invite every member of our organization to attend and see the project awards. We will takek the opportunity to thank outgoing board members and officers while welcoming the new board members and officers for the upcoming year. Attending our banquet on a Friday night is a great way to start the weekend.

This will be my last President’s article for our newsletter so I want to thank our Board members and the other officers for their dedication to our chapter. I also want to thank our membership for joining our ACI Chapter.

Our Chapter continues to support educational opportunities in concrete construction and the advancement of our industry.

When you examine this chapter’s involvement in seminars, technical training and participation in ACI at the international level you begin to understand that the Nebraska chapter is blessed with extraordinary people.

Thank all of you for your participation.

Bob Irwin

Chapter President

ACI Nebraska Chapter

Nominates Hu, Thibault for Open Board Positions

Submitted by Jereme Montgomery

There will be two board positions to be filled by the end of this year.

Ben Ricceri of Lyman Richey Corporation and Kyle Poff of Kearney

Concrete Company have fulfilled their 3-year terms on the Board of Directors for Nebraska ACI Chapter. Kyle Poff has been asked to continue as a Nebraska ACI Officer, which still leaves two board positions open.

As the Past President and Chairman of the Nomination Committee of the Nebraska ACI Chapter, it is my duty to fill positions. I would like to introduce you to my selections, to be voted on by the Nebraska

ACI membership prior to our annual meeting January 25th.

Concrete Cares of Nebraska

is now on the move….

Stan Poff of Kearney Concrete Company recently donated a 2016

Polaris SlingShot SL this year to Concrete Cares of Nebraska, which is currently being customized into a custom Concrete Cares awareness machine. This promotional tool will attend car shows, parades and events all over the state.

Sponsors to make this possible are as follows:

• Kearney Concrete Co. (purchase of vehicle)

• Kearney Power Sports ($7,000 discount on vehicle)

• Turner Body Shop (donation of teardown and paint labor $4500)

• NAPA Auto Parts Kearney (Donated

Paint 2,000)

• Kyle and Lisa Poff (Donated $1200 for

Insurance Policy)

We would like to take this time to say thank you to all our ACI Nebraska,

NC&AA, and ACI National members for your support. In addition, we would like to thank all everyone who have also supported this very special and needed cause. Together we have donated $19,000.00 to local Nebraska families battling this disease. This is an amazing accomplishment that our small group is extremely proud of.
