TRIO NAVARRO, RESIDENT ARTISTS IN CHAMBER MUSIC, TO PERFORM

BEETHOVEN CLASSICS AND MORE AT SRJC, APRIL 27

Santa Rosa, CA — Trio Navarro, the resident chamber ensemble at Sonoma State University, will perform at the Santa Rosa Junior College (SRJC) Petaluma campus on Sunday, April 27, at 4:00 p.m. Trio Navarro, hailed as the premier trio of Northern California, will perform works by legendary composers such as Ludwig van Beethoven,

Antonín Dvoƙák and Iosif Andriasov. The performance will begin at 4:00 p.m. in the Carole L. Ellis Auditorium on SRJC’s Petaluma campus located on 680 Sonoma Mountain Parkway. General admission is $10; however, children under 12 are free. Daily parking permits will be made available for $4.

Trio Navarro, founded in 1992, consists of three exceptional musicians: Jill Rachuy Brindel

(cellist), Marilyn Thompson (pianist), and Victor Romasevich (violinist and pianist).

Ms. Brindel has been a cellist with the San Francisco Symphony since 1980 and a member of

Trio Navarro for more than twenty years. She actively promotes the music of her late father, composer Bernard Brindel, and is a private instructor of cello. She also serves as the coach for cello section of the San Francisco Symphony Youth Orchestra.

Ms. Thompson is a pianist who has performed in chamber music concerts such as Alice Tully

Hall at Lincoln Center, the 92nd Street "Y" in Carnegie – Weill Hall (New York City), the

Philip's Gallery (Washington D.C.), Boston's Symphony Hall, Davies Symphony Hall (San

Francisco), the Teatro National (San Jose, Costa Rica). She has also performed numerous concert halls in China including Beijing and Shanghai. In addition to her performances, Ms. Thompson also spends much of her time teaching at Sonoma State University.

Mr. Romasevich was born in Minsk, Belarus. As a youth, he studied with Rostislav Dubinsky of the famed Borodin Quartet.as well as Russian composer and philosopher Iosif Andriasov. Mr.

Romasevich has performed as a violinist, violist and pianist in various chamber music and San

Francisco Symphony concerts.

Trio Navarro promises to deliver a delightful and impressive afternoon of classical music suitable for the whole family. Come witness the local and competitive musical talent of Sonoma County’s premier ensemble at SRJC’s Petaluma campus on Sunday, April 27, at 4:00 p.m. in the Carol L.
