The Word of God is our weapon which we are to become Master Swordsmen of. (Hebrews 4:12 NKJV “For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.”) Institute Motto: Dei Verbum Comitante (Latin) meaning "The Word of God my Companion". Institute Scripture: Psalm 111:10 NKJV “The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom; A good understanding have all those who do His commandments. His praise endures forever.” In 2005, Empact School of Ministry was established with the purpose of training and educating the laity of the local church. Over several years the need arose for quality Christian Education that would enable members of the local church to earn accredited Christian-centered degrees. With this in mind, and the new direction of the ministry, it was unanimously decided to change the name of Empact School of Ministry to Fuzion Bible Institute. FUZION is accredited through World-Wide Accreditation Commission of Christian Educational Institutions (WWAC), headquartered in Richmond, Virginia, USA, under the directorship of Dr. Paul Richardson. The institute is, therefore, authorized to award accredited Theological degrees to students who have successfully completed the required courses of study for the relevant degree. Fuzion Bible Institute offers two types of Biblical Education, namely Online Studies and the backbone of the ministry, the Extension Campus Program (ECP). The ECP places a Fuzion Bible Institute within local ministries whether they are a church, home group, prison ministry or educational organization. This is the main focus of Fuzion which is expounded upon in the "Vision" section of this manual. Fuzion Bible Institute is registered with the Commission for Independent Education of the Florida Department of Education as a Religious Institution. Fuzion Bible Institute: The word "institute" rather than "training center" or "school" was selected because the noun form of the word not only means "training center", but also means "a union" or "association." This reflects the networking aspect of Fuzion Bible Institute, the sponsoring organization of the Institute. The vision is to work with existing evangelical organizations in the training of believers. The word "institute" in its verb form means "to bring into being, develop, create, initiate, conceive, and give birth to." The Institute is birthing a vision designed to move believers from vision to reality, from observation to demonstration of the power of God. Fuzion Bible Institute is not a seminary for those who desire study of theological issues or training in Biblical languages, archaeology, history, etc. Fuzion Bible Institute is not in competition with the traditional Bible college structure. For those who are educationally and financially qualified, have access to a school, and whose circumstances permit, we encourage a 5|Page traditional resident Bible college education. Our training is for those who do not have opportunities for such training. Fuzion Bible Institute, the sponsoring organization of the Institute, is not a denomination, nor does it desire to create a denominational structure. We are a network working between denominations, churches, organizations, and nations to raise up laborers for the harvest fields of the world. The Institute is not a self-improvement program. God is not teaching self-improvement but is taking dead men and women and making them spiritually alive. That is radically different from self-help. Fuzion Bible Institute is a lay training program designed to reach every level of the Body of Christ. This Bible based training can be used for individual study and for small group Bible study in homes, organizations, schools, prisons, and churches on a local, national, or international basis. Fuzion Bible Institute was conceived by the Holy Spirit and in answer to a cry from the harvest fields of the world for materials geared to train the average layman. The Institute has two avenues of learning: First - There is the in-house Bible College where a Church, ministry, home-group or even prison ministry operates an extension campus at their location, which is more formal in nature. Secondly - Is the mobile format. Through the Internet, the courses can be taken anywhere in the world. This allows believers to be trained without leaving their present environment. Students study within the context of their own culture, allowing their daily activities to remain stable while becoming a laboratory for application of what they are learning. The Institute uses the distance factor as a positive element in developing learning independence. The goal of education is not to make students dependent upon teachers, but independent of them. The Institute does not spend millions of dollars on brick and mortar to build evangelical training centers. The training can be offered in existing facilities, whether a home, church building, or school. Jesus did not construct buildings, yet He took men from vision to reality. It is the content, not the physical facility that establishes a training institute as an effective spiritual force for God. A great leader in the United States, Benjamin Franklin, once said, "Give me 26 lead soldiers and I will conquer the world." He was referring to the printer's lead type of the 26 letters of the English alphabet. He recognized the impact of the printed page. The distribution and translation record of the written Word of God, the Bible, demonstrates the effectiveness of this form of communication. In its printed or computer disk format, Fuzion Bible Institute can be taken into nations without customs problems or expensive shipping costs. It can be downloaded from the Internet free of charge anywhere throughout the world. The curriculum is then reproduced in the individual countries, keeping costs at a minimum which can be paid by the average believers. 6|Page The Institute is not a traditional correspondence course. Such schools are effective only where there is a good postal system. Since the Institute targets unreached people in remote locations, the correspondence course method is not effective because of limited postal service to such areas. The Institute is a decentralized training program. This means that the “micromanagement” style of control is not exercised by Institute headquarters. We provide curriculum and guidelines for reproduction, translation, and organizing training schools. The Institute also promotes a culture of accountability whereby we act as a spiritual covering to the extension Institutes without infringing upon the Apostolic covering of the hosting ministry. Decentralization enables rapid growth and provides the flexibility necessary for a cross-cultural program of this nature. Curriculum emphasis: The curriculum of Fuzion Bible Institute emphasizes two major areas: First: What Jesus taught by word and demonstration to raise-up trained, motivated, lay leadership. Training focuses on what He taught to transform simple men into reproductive Christians who reached their world with the Gospel message in a demonstration of power. Often great emphasis is placed on the teaching methods of Jesus with little attention to the content. But what did He actually teach that turned men from fishermen and tax collectors to international harvesters? Second: The curriculum emphasizes what was demonstrated and taught during the times of the Acts and Epistles as His plan was instituted in the early Church. This emphasis in no way discredits the value and inspiration of the remainder of Scriptures. Jesus often referred to the Old Testament in His teaching. He based His life and ministry on the total revelation of God's Word. The Institute equips students with creative Bible study skills to enable continued study of all the Scriptures following basic course training. But the primary focus of the Institute training is teaching what Jesus taught to move men from vision to reality and the strategies revealed as His plan was initiated in the Church. The curriculum emphasizes demonstration, training believers to be participators rather than spectators. Intellectual knowledge of God is not enough: But be ye doers of the Word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves. (James 1:22) True knowledge is gained only by experience. Study results in gaining information, but not experience. Teaching is factual while training is experiential. Jesus is a living person, not merely a fact. Relationship to Him is based on experience, not just knowledge, facts, and information. The aim of the training is not accumulated knowledge, but action which converts the possibilities of ministry into reality. It is not just articulation [talking about the power of God], but demonstration [putting it into action]: 7|Page And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man's wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power; that your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God. (I Corinthians 2:4-5) We stress training rather than teaching. Although teaching is part of training, teaching leaves the learner the option to accept what is taught or reject it. We desire that students... ...mightest know the certainty of those things, wherein thou has been instructed. (Luke 1:4) The curriculum takes students beyond teaching to training where participation is required. The participation to which students are challenged is that of spiritual reproduction. Christ's first appeal to His disciples was centered on reproduction: And He saith unto them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men. (Matthew 4:19) His final command was to reproduce spiritually: Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost; Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you... (Matthew 28:19-20) Progression: For complete intensified training to move believers from vision to reality, use the courses in the order explained in the "Curriculum" file. Each module and course is independent of all others, however, permitting a course to be used separately if so desired. For example, a pastor can use "Foundations of Faith" in a class for new converts without ordering other courses offered by the Institute. Institute staff: Although the curriculum is designed to enable a local pastor or Christian leader to conduct the training sessions, the headquarters of Fuzion Bible Institute provides guest teachers upon request according to the availability of the ministerial staff. Many of the teachers, writers, editors, and others involved with FUZION do not receive salaries. As a networking ministry, many are involved in ministries of their own and contribute their time and abilities. Because of this, we request that should you make use of our team, that travel, modest lodging and food costs are paid by your ministry. For further information, please contact the International headquarters. Curriculum Contributors: Associates of Fuzion Bible Institute involved in curriculum preparation for the Institute represent a variety of leadership in evangelical circles. Some hold graduate degrees from recognized institutions. We have not limited contributors to graduates of 8|Page theological schools or Bible colleges. Some contributors are actually out on the front lines and vitally involved in lay training programs around the world. Their inclusion as contributors helps avoid purely theoretical training and focuses attention on the practical aspects as well. They bring to the program an international viewpoint from the front lines of Christian service. All contributors are qualified, born-again, Spirit-filled, fundamental Christians who believe in the divine inspiration of God's Word. Their common bond is a vital concern for the training. This has united them together in a new network of evangelism for the purpose of raising-up laborers for the harvest fields of the world. International: The word international means "between or among nations." Our vision is global in nature, with special emphasis on people groups yet unreached with the Gospel message. Network: A network is the joining together of many segments to make a whole. Simply stated, it consists of people communicating with each other, sharing ideas, information and resources to achieve a common goal. (For FUZION, that goal is reaching the world with the Gospel of the Kingdom.) This can be compared to a knotted fishnet which creates a multitude of cells of varying sizes, each linked to the others directly or indirectly. The New Testament definition of the Church is an example of networking. The Church is pictured as a united body with many parts; believers functioning together, in their gifting, in ministry and mission (I Corinthians 12:431). The controlling power of the network is the authority of God's Word and the headship of the Lord Jesus Christ. We desire to work between denominations, organizations, and nations forming a new network of evangelism. 9|Page Statement of Purpose Fuzion Bible Institute is a non-denominational Institute established with the purpose of training and equipping End-time Laborers for the Great Harvest. This is done by offering quality Christian education to perspective students at an international level. Our purpose: Training Tomorrow’s Leaders, Today. Our mission: Win the World for Christ. Vision Fuzion Bible Institute exists to further the cause of Christ upon this earth. In 1998 Colin Blom received a prophetic word while studying at Christ For the Nations Institute. It revealed that he would be linked to an international training center which would be multi-ethnic, multi-national and multi-cultural. In 2005 he established, alongside his Assistant Pastors, Empact School of Ministry, at the Church he was pastoring at that time. Several years later, through a meeting with a Pastor in South Africa, the Lord birthed the vision to establish an accredited Bible College which would offer low-cost quality Christian education to local Churches across the globe. The Vision: To offer low-cost Christian education to Developed and Emerging Market countries. The finances raised from these Bible Institutes will be used to establish additional Bible Institutes and Ministries in Third World countries at no cost to the locals. This means that each paying student will be directly involved in world missions, as a portion of their tuition will be used to establish such Ministries and Institutes. For students upon graduation to be able to continue their involvement with the Third World ministries by working in those countries. To provide a limited number of scholarships each year for those who have a desire to study the Word of God, yet, do not have the financial means to do so. Contact the Institute to see if you qualify. For FUZION to establish Bible Institutes on an International level, considering Ministries, Home-Groups, Outreach Teams and Christian educational ministries as the Local Church. To be a catalyst in networking ministries together globally. Educational Goals By engaging a Fuzion Bible Institute program of study, learners will: • Be prepared to work effectively, contributing to their Christ-centered career field; • Understand the spiritual and intellectual framework of the Christian worldview; • Comprehend that truth is an absolute, discernible, provable commodity; 10 | P a g e • Be prepared to respond to the spiritual, philosophical, moral and intellectual challenges of their times from a well-reasoned biblical perspective; • Be prepared to articulate the core spiritual, philosophical and societal principles of liberty; • Understand the essentials of living in and preserving a free society; • Be exposed to the well-rounded ideal of education. 11 | P a g e Fuzion Bible Institute has been formed as a Christian educational ministry under the Lordship of Jesus Christ. Our supreme desire is to know Christ and be conformed to His image by the power of the Holy Spirit. We are a non-denominational, Spirit-filled ministry, yet we are not opposed to denominations as such, only to the over-emphasis of the doctrinal differences that have led to the division of the Body of Christ. The Holy Scripture - We believe the Bible is the inspired, inerrant, infallible, irrevocable and complete Word of God and is therefore our supreme and final authority in all matters that it addresses. (2 Tim. 3:16, 17) The Eternal Godhead - We believe that God is Triune, existing eternally and simultaneously as three distinct persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. All three persons in the Godhead share equally and completely the one divine nature, and are therefore the same God, coequal in power, nature and glory. (1 John 5:7) Jesus Christ - We believe that Jesus Christ, the second person of the Trinity, is God the Son who has neither beginning nor ending. He was conceived in the flesh by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, and is fully God and fully man. Jesus died for our sins, was buried, and arose bodily on the third day. He ascended into heaven and is now seated at the right hand of God the Father as our only mediator, high priest, and advocate. He will return in glory to resurrect and judge all mankind. (Matthew 1:23-25/John 1:1/14:3/Acts 4:12/1 Corinthians 15:3-4 & 20/Philippians 2:5-11/ 1 Timothy 2:5-6/Hebrews 4:14-16/1 Peter 2:22.) Holy Spirit - We believe that the Holy Spirit is God, the third person of the Trinity who is coequal with the Father and Son. The Holy Spirit's ministries include: Convicting all people of sin; calling, bringing regenerating, indwelling, and baptizing believers into the Body of Christ; setting them apart to a holy life; and teaching, keeping, and empowering them day by day for godly living and spiritual service. The Holy Spirit distributes spiritual gifts to each believer according to His will. God in His sovereignty still works in miraculous ways. (John 3:5-8/Acts 1:8/5:3-4/16:7-14/1 Corinthians 2:9-12/3:16/12:3-13 & 2831/13:8-11/Galatians 5:16-25/Ephesians 1:13-14/5:18/Hebrews 2:3-4) The Fall of Man - We believe that man was created in the image and likeness of God to fellowship with Him and give Him glory. Adam and Eve through voluntary disobedience chose to rebel against God and as a result all of mankind became separated from God. The only remedy for this is redemption through faith in Jesus Christ. (Rom. 5:12) Basis of Salvation - We believe that while we were yet sinners Christ died for us, signing the pardon of all who believe on Him and confess Jesus Christ as their Lord. We believe that Jesus Christ is the only way to salvation and that there is absolutely no other way to be reconciled back to God the Father. (John 3:16; Rom. 5:8, Rom. 10:9-10; Acts 4:12) 12 | P a g e Salvation through Grace - We believe that before salvation we have no righteousness of our own and must come to God through the righteousness of Christ. (Eph. 2:8) Repentance and Acceptance - We believe that upon sincere repentance and a wholehearted acceptance of Christ as Lord, we are justified before God.(1 John 1:9) The New Birth - We believe that the change which takes place in the heart and life at conversion is a literal one and is the result of being born of the Spirit of God.(2 Cor. 5:17; Gal. 2:20; John 3:5-7) Daily Christian Life - We believe that it is the will of God that we live a sanctified and holy life, growing constantly in the Faith.(Heb. 6:1) Water Baptism - We believe that baptism by immersion in water is an outward sign of the inward work of salvation.(Matt. 28:19) The Lord’s Supper - We believe in the commemoration of the Lord’s Supper by the symbolical use of the bread and the juice of the vine.(1 Cor. 11:28) Baptism of the Holy Spirit - We believe that the Baptism of the Holy Spirit is to endow the believer with power, and that His empowering is after the same manner as in Bible days. (Acts 1:8; 2:4) The Spirit-Filled Life - We believe that it is the will of God that we walk in the Spirit continually. (Rom. 8:1-2; 14-16) The Gifts and the Fruit of the Spirit - We believe that the Holy Spirit has gifts to bestow upon the Christian and that we should show spiritual fruit as evidence of a Spirit-filled life. (1 Cor. 12:1-11; Gal. 5:22-23; Rom. 12:6-8; Eph. 4:11-13) Divine Healing - We believe that divine healing is the provision of Christ to heal the sick in response to the exercise of faith, the prayer of faith, the prayer of agreement, anointing with oil, the gifts of healing or the laying on of hands. We believe that this provision of Christ is for everyone today. (1 Peter 2:24; Matt. 8:17; 18:18-19; James 5:14-16; 1 Cor. 2:9; Mark 16:15-18; Matt. 24:35; Mark 13:31; Luke 21:33) The Second Coming - We believe that the Second Coming of Christ is literal and inevitable. (1Thes. 4:16-17) Church Fellowship - We believe it is our sacred duty to identify and actively participate with the local and visible church of Christ. (Acts 16:5; Heb. 10:25) Civil Government - We believe that the laws of the land should be upheld at all times except in matters opposed to the Word of God. (Rom. 13:1-5) The Final Judgment - We believe that all shall stand one day before God in final judgment, and there receive eternal reward or eternal judgment. (2 Cor. 5:10; Rev. 20:11-13) 13 | P a g e Heaven - We believe that heaven is a literal place, eternally existent. (John 14:2; Rev. 7:15-17) Hell - We believe that hell is a literal place of eternal torment for all who reject the Lord Jesus Christ. (Rev. 20:10,15) Evangelism - We believe that evangelism is the Great Commission given to the Church and as the church every believer is spiritually obligated in fulfilling this commission. (James 5:20; Mark 16:15; 2 Cor. 5:18-21) Tithes and Offerings - We believe that the method ordained of God for the support and spread of His cause is by the giving of tithes and freewill offerings.(Mal. 3:10; 2 Cor. 9:7; Heb. 7:8) Worship -We believe that “acceptable” and “true” worship is prescribed by God Himself in His Word. This embodies individual and corporate expressions of praise and thanksgiving and reverence in holiness. We believe worship of God should be spiritual. Therefore, we remain flexible and yielded to the leading of the Holy Spirit to direct our worship. (John 4:24; Psalm 150) Church Government - We believe in church government to ensure order, and we believe in loyalty to those acting in rightful authority as they lead us in the Lord. (1Peter 5:1-5; Rom. 13) Unity, Understanding and Love - We believe that in essentials there must be unity, in nonessentials -understanding, and in all things - love. We believe the only true basis of Christian fellowship is Christ's Agape love, which is greater than any differences we possess and without which we have no right to claim ourselves Christians. 14 | P a g e Fuzion Bible Institute is accredited by the Worldwide Accreditation Commission of Christian Educational Institutions (WWAC), overseen by Dr. Paul Richardson. The following statement has been approved: “We Fuzion Bible Institute is fully accredited by the Worldwide Accreditation Commission of Christian Educational Institutions (WWAC). Anyone wishing to contact them for verification may write to: The WWAC, Dr. Paul Richardson, Executive President, 2800 Blendwell Rd., Richmond, VA 23224. Telephone: (804) 276-4709 In the United States, accreditation of Universities and Seminaries is a voluntary process with accreditation granted by private, non-governmental agencies. Governmental agencies never provide theological or ministry accreditation. Additionally, there is no absolute 'national' standard for educational accreditation since the educational world is currently re-examining criteria for accreditation, focusing less on institutional inputs and more on educational outcomes. There is no such requirement as Federal or State accreditation of a religious institution, because the civil government has no authority to regulate religious teachings or which certificates or religious degrees upon completion of such education may be issued. This is a matter of separation of Church and State. Politicians and civil authorities must never be allowed to officially endorse or disapprove directly or indirectly the beliefs and practices of Churches or their schools. Please keep in mind that most Bible Colleges and Christian Universities do not have secular regional accreditation. STATE OF FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION State Authorization In the United States of America, jurisdiction over degree-granting institutions rests with the individual state governments. Compliance with state regulations is the necessary condition for offering a legitimate, legal American degree. Fuzion Bible Institute grants degrees under the authority of the Florida State Board of Independent Colleges and Universities in compliance with Section 1005.06(1)(f), Florida Statutes. The state of Florida does not require regional or theological accreditation. Please Note: Fuzion Bible Institute as well as other Christian colleges are NOT required to be regulated by the Florida Department of Education (FLDOE); therefore, Fuzion Bible Institute is not listed with the FLDOE as a 'regulated' institution. Fuzion Bible Institute has received approval (authorization) as of 2010 from the FLDOE that Fuzion Bible Institute is in compliance with the statutes of the Florida State Board of Independent Colleges and Universities to offer legitimate, legal American degrees. 15 | P a g e Fuzion Bible Institute (FBI) does not have a regional secular accreditation. If you desire to pursue a degree for secular employment, a degree with Fuzion Bible Institute may not be the right choice for you. FBI does not guarantee a job or ordination in any specific market or ministry. Although WWAC accredits our degrees, FBI is not listed at this time with a U.S. Department of Education-approved accreditation agency. A Fuzion degree is NOT specifically suited for people pursuing secular jobs such as public school teachers, state university professors, and state-licensed counselors or psychologists, among other vocations requiring state licensure. Generally, people working in ministry positions do not need a government-accredited degree. In fact, a number of churches take a stand against the Church voluntarily placing itself under government regulations. Tax Exempt Non-Profit Status Fuzion Bible Institute is a non-profit corporation located in the state of Florida, USA. It is recognized as a tax exempt organization under Section 501(c)3 of the US Internal Revenue Code. What separates Fuzion Bible Institute from the "diploma mills" springing up on the Internet? There are several standards that set Fuzion Bible Institute, and any legitimate institution, apart from the diploma mills: Curriculum Standards: A legitimate institution sets real, definable curriculum standards, based on historical good practice, for each of its programs. Instructional Delivery: A legitimate institution requires its learners to undertake instruction, either from its own faculty, or from providers who have been accredited or approved based on a rigorous approval model. Authorization: Legitimate authorization involves the institution placing itself under the oversight of a duly appointed, sanctioned approval body. A legitimate institution grants degrees under the authority of the government agency in the state or country in which it operates. Faculty Standards: A legitimate institution will contract with and employ faculty members who are appropriately qualified to teach in their disciplines, diverse in their educational backgrounds, and committed to academic excellence. Organizational Oversight Fuzion Bible Institute’s governance and strategic direction are overseen by a Board of Directors which provides organizational oversight and guards Fuzion Bible Institute’s integrity. 16 | P a g e How do Credit Hours Work? COURSE DISCRIPTIONS STRATEGIES FOR SPIRITUAL HARVEST (MIN107) The initial call of Jesus Christ to men was to be spiritually reproductive: "Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men." His final command that of the Great Commission, also challenged followers to spiritual reproduction. Using the analogy of the natural harvest, this course focuses on promises of spiritual harvest, things that prevent harvest and keys to effective harvest. It communicates the vision which the remainder of Institute training equips students to fulfill. FOUNDATIONS OF FAITH (THE102) This course stresses the importance of proper spiritual foundations for life and ministry by focusing on foundations of the Christian faith identified in Hebrews 6:1: Repentance, faith, baptism, laying on of hands, resurrection, and eternal judgment. 19 | P a g e KINGDOM LIVING (THE103) The "Gospel of the Kingdom" shall be preached in all the world before the return of the Lord Jesus Christ (Matthew 24:14). Understanding of Kingdom principles is necessary if one is to spread the Gospel of the Kingdom. This course focuses on patterns and principles of Kingdom living applicable to life and ministry. SPIRITUAL STRATEGIES (MIN105) This course moves participants beyond the natural world into the realm of the spirit. Tactics of the enemy are analyzed and strategies of spiritual warfare assuring victory over the principalities and powers of the spirit world are explained. MINISTRY OF THE HOLY SPIRIT (THE104) This study focuses on the ministry of the Holy Spirit, spiritual fruit, and spiritual gifts.
