Page 8 of 21 Open Architecture Solutions Sdn. Bhd ORACLE Experience OAS have been involved in Oracle implementation since its inception in both the Oracle DB as well as Oracle infrastructure from the Oracle iAS (pre 10g) implementation to the 11. Our experience have been in implementation design, installation, configuration, and operations and maintenance of the various components. Individual components that we are familiar with includes: for Oracle Application Server/SOA: Oracle Web cache Oracle J2EE Application Server Oracle Internet Directory (OID) Oracle BPEL and BPM (SOA) Oracle Portal Oracle Access Manager (OAM) Oracle Universal Content Manager (UCM) Oracle Enterprise Service Bus (ESB)/ Oracle Integrator/Oracle Integration for Oracle Database and related components: Oracle Database Oracle Datawarehouse Oracle Workflow Oracle Balance Scorecard Oracle Business Intelligence (Oracle BI) in previous projects, OAS have been involved in installation and configuration of the various Oracle components as well as troubleshooting and performance tuning of those components to address issues during operations. As Oracle infrastructure components relies on the J2EE platform, configuration and tuning of the components requires in depth knowledge on workings of Java, our experience and exposure contributes towards the skill sets and knowledge of approaching issues, especially for troubleshooting activities in both problems and performance. OAS also have wealth of experience in configuration and tuning of other J2EE-based platforms such as Tomcat, JBoss, IBM Websphere, Glassfish and a few others. Typically, our 'in-the-field' experience are applied with assistance with the knowledge of our commonly used tools such as Nagios and AppDynamics and other third party tools to achieve the necessary purpose. Oracle Database requires regular tuning and optimization to ensure optimum performance of access time for queries and operations of the Database. We also have experience of troubleshooting and tuning of the Oracle Database with assistance of Oracle own tools as well as several other third party tools. Page 9 of 21 Open Architecture Solutions Sdn. Bhd Tuning and optimization of Oracle DB will require regular 'computation' or Oracle Database 'statistics' that provides the means of optimization of the performance of the resources and identifying potential bottlenecks within an implementation and use of the Database. Besides Oracle and J2EE environment, OAS has experience in Microsoft .Net framework together with MS SQL Database. Page 10 of 21 Open Architecture Solutions Sdn. Bhd Integration Services Experience Since inception, OAS has been involved in the Integration Services implementation. Most of the personnel in OAS has been involved in the application integration since 1990s (for almost 20 years). With the extensive experience, we have development our own integration approach in managing the integration project. The approach to execute this project could be broken down into the following stages: 1. Stage 1 : Interface Requirement Capture 2. Stage 2 : Interface Design 3. Stage 3 : Interface Development/Build 4. Stage 4 : Testing 5. Stage 5 : Commissioning Integration Development and Delivery Lifecycle Page 11 of 21 Open Architecture Solutions Sdn. Bhd Software Project Management In managing the project, OAS is adopting JIRA as a project management and project collaboration tools. JIRA is a web-based application developed by Atlassian Software Systems, JIRA provides bug tracking, issue tracking and project management functions. It is commonly used for • Software bug tracking or new feature development • Support helpdesk • Internal project management systems It combines a clean, fast interface for capturing and organizing issues with customizable workflows, dashboards and a pluggable integration framework. JIRA in its entirety is based on 3 concepts: • Issue: Every task, bug, enhancement requests, story, and all the whatnot to be created and tracked via JIRA is an Issue • Project: A collection of Issues • Workflow: A series of steps an Issue goes through, starting from creation until completion. JIRA Issue can be assigned to a project team member, and its status tracked. Issue status can be viewed at a glance, telling persons of interest how long to resolve it, what has been done, what remains to be done, etc. Issues can be linked together to create dependencies (blocking task until its dependencies has been satisfied), or created as child issues (issues is completed if all child are completed). The workflow can be customized to fit the way the organization works. Project progress is tracked through completion of its Issues. OAS’s understanding of the above concept enables OAS to implement JIRA as a flexible framework for project management and tracking in almost any organization. JIRA flexibility allows OAS to configure it to conform to different tracking strategies based on the wants and needs of the organization. Page 13 of 21 Open Architecture Solutions Sdn. Bhd Infrastructure Monitoring Software As part of the technical services provided to client, OAS adopted Nagios as a tools for system and infrastructure monitoring. OAS is conversant with the implementation of Nagios from the ground up to monitor systems components, including servers, network equipment (switches, routers, etc), network appliances (firewalls, load balancers, etc), and desktop computers, using out-of-the-box plugins, or developing customized plugins for specific monitoring purposes. OAS develop custom Nagios event handlers, tweak notification rules, and optimize monitoring configuration and many other configuration settings that can be set for specific purposes. It alerts the users when things go wrong and alerts them a second time when the problem has been resolved. Nagios monitoring capabilities include monitoring of network services (email services such as SMTP and POP3, web server services including HTTP and HTTPS, etc), host resources (processor load, memory usage, disk usage, etc) and a number of system components through custom plugins or scripts (SNMP, IBMS, etc). It can do remote monitoring via remotely executed scripts, either through SSH, SSL tunnels or other remote execution tools. Plugins are essentially scripts (shell scripts, Perl, Python, PHP, etc), which can be used out of the box, customized, or developed from scratch. Later versions of Nagios provide more capability including data graphing, network hierarchical display, and database storage for making data available to other systems. Event handlers, which are scripts to perform automated recovery, can be executed based on alerts. Page 14 of 21 Open Architecture Solutions Sdn.
