Our faculty has a wide range of interests and expertise, spanning traditional historical periods and cross-disciplinary fields like queer and feminist theory, film studies, disability studies, and literary biography. Yes. However, non-native English speakers may substitute TOEFL or IELTS scores for GRE. ADMISSION DECISIONS Applicants should submit a statement of purpose (750-1000 words), writing sample (8-15 pages, double spaced), and three letters of recommendation. Those taking advantage of rolling admission can reasonably expect to get news within 4-6 weeks after the application is complete; similarly, those applying by the January 15 deadline can expect to get a decision mid- to late March.
