Assignment 2.1 Descriptions
Individual Assignment Description: Week Two
This week students will learn the geography of Central America countries. Using Google™ Earth as
an explorer tool, students will locate seven countries, their capital cities, identify the countries that
border each other. This course is for third and fourth grade children. The students will provide a flow
chart of the locations of the seven countries, border countries and label their capital cities.
Objectives



Identify and locate seven countries in Central America.
Understand what countries border each other.
Define the capital cities of each country.
Learning Outcomes
Students will be able to discuss the location of seven countries in Central America, capital cities,
know what countries border each other and the latitude/longitude locations.
Assignment 1.1 Rubric
Students will be able to define the seven countries, identify the capital cities, know the border
countries and the latitude/longitude coordinates.
Submission Requirements
The assignment should be submitted in course drop box by day 7 of week 1. The assignment should
be submitted as FlowDiagram+Last Name+First initial. An example is FlowDiagramSmithG. All
assignments are dated and time stamped. The grades are sent to each student using email and the
students drop box.
Assignment 2.2 – Reflection
Students are to write a 1-2 page paper reflecting on your activities concerning the Assignment 2.1 –
Essay. Also provide feedback to the instructor on course content, discussions and course resources.
This assignment is due on the same day as Assignment 2.1.
