The Drivers/Dispatchers of Saferide shall assist the ASOSU in promoting self-governance in the best interest of the students at Oregon State University. This includes, but is not limited to, ensuring smooth operations throughout the academic year of the nightly SafeRide shifts and representing ASOSU professionally to all individuals who utilize SafeRide. SafeRide Driver/Dispatcher Job Responsibilities: Maintain clear professional and personal boundaries with students served Maintain the highest levels of confidentiality when working with student information and sensitive situations Wear SafeRide nametags every shift and put SafeRide van magnets on the vans at the beginning of every night and take them off at the end of every night Use Nextel Walkie-Talkie phones to communicate with Dispatcher regarding student pick-up locations Safely transport SafeRide passengers to their destinations Use wheelchair-accessible van to accommodate students with disabilities Update data log nightly regarding number of riders, time and location of pick-ups, and destination of riders Update Incident Log when transports require extra attention and care Attend weekly SafeRide Staff Meetings Answer multi-line phone in a positive and professional manner to all students and community members when dispatching and inform SafeRide van drivers by walkie-talkie of the pickup/drop off points of riders Maintain a clean office environment and work space Represent ASOSU in a professional and positive manner Qualifications: Must be a currently enrolled student at Oregon State University for at least 6 academic credits. Must have a minimum GPA of 2.00 Must be in good academic standing for the term prior to selection and during entire period of employment.
