When are the classes?
What is BLIIS?
BLIIS is:
 the BMCC Language Immersion for
International Students
 an affordable special ESL program for
anyone who needs to strengthen
academic English skills , especially to
prepare for success in college
 an opportunity to learn English in a
challenging academic environment
BLIIS offers:
 reading: novels, newspaper articles and
non-fiction
 writing: at least three drafts of each
essay and a research paper, so you learn
how to develop and edit your own
writing
 oral communication: presentations to
your class
 time on the computer each day for you
to work on assignments and do research
 retesting in the CUNY Assessment Tests
in Reading and Writing at the end of July
