Preview The Lightning Thief Chapters 9, 10,11,and 12. Tuesday and Thursday Use journal section of notebook to record thoughts : including the genre, author's purpose and background knowledge; make predictions; support predictions; and set a purpose for reading. Monday,

Wednesday , and Friday : Begin with a paragraph or sentences related to the story to revise and edit ... ( alternate days as needed)

Look up and define vocabulary words that will be encountered in the day's reading assignment.

Read from the chapter or selection. Record interesting or confusing words from each page-noting the page # and paragraph.

Reading Workshop : Daily:The students will read independently and with partners. I will do Guided Reading groups during this time. Students will record unknown/vocabulary words and unclear thoughts in their vocab. section. Extension Activity: "Play game on

Wednesday: Chapter 11 pages 168-177, Review for reading module test... finish Frayer model... Use Buckle Down.

Thursday: Reading Module TLI Test... Finish Chapter 11. Vocabulary foldable or other graphic organizer/ word illustrations

Friday: Chapter 12 vocabulary discussion and read and respond to Chapter 12.
