Rights Movement Original Poetry Now that we have discussed the Rights Movements in class and read over Joy Kogawa’s What I remember of the evacuation, you will create an original poem from the perspective a person within one of the following movements: Women’s Rights Native Rights Worker’s Rights Immigrant/Minority Rights Gay and Lesbian Rights Your poem must include: At least 2 historical allusions At least 3 additional literary devices (no your historical allusions do not count!). They must be 3 different devices, you may not simply use repetition 3 times. Once you have completed your poem you will annotate it. You must label each device and historical allusion, clearly explaining the historical allusion and how it relates to your topic as well the intended effect behind the use of each device.
