Catholic Family Services Grant Writer/Community Liaison Guided by the teachings of Jesus Christ, Catholic Family Services supports healing and improved mental health for families and children of all backgrounds through professional counseling and psychiatric services. Job Description: The grant writer/community liaison is responsible for managing existing grants, researching new grant opportunities available through foundations, corporations and governmental entities; writing and submitting proposals; and renewing existing grants. The grant writer/community liaison will work with program and quality-control staff to ensure data for grant reports is being collected. The grant writer/community liaison will be visible and involved in the St. Louis non-profit and profit landscape as it relates to partnerships and potential grants. Duties & Responsibilities: Stay informed of funding trends from current funders and keep the management team and pertinent staff informed Research and identify new grant opportunities (local, state, national, private, government) Inform management team and program staff of viable opportunities Develop and submit proposal components in accordance with grantors’ guidelines and in cooperation with program and finance staff Coordinate reporting requirements and submit reports per grantor timelines Acknowledge grant awards Cultivate relationships with funders and possible grant partners Keep grantors aware of progress in programs they support, as well as new developments at CFS Responsible to provide grant reports for grantors who require them Independently connect strategic plan initiatives to potential funding opportunities Meet or exceed agency determined benchmarks for grants applied and received on annual basis Network with foundations and for-profit landscape of St. Louis and region Participate in workgroups/committees as determined by Executive Director Assist with other fundraising projects when requested Knowledge & Experience Requirements: Master degree preferred; Bachelor’s degree required in relevant field, such as social work, communications, etc. (or adequate combination of education and experience) Previous experience in working with grants and grant writing Proven record of excellent oral and written communication skills History of relationship-building skills Sound understanding of social services and mental health programs This is a FULL TIME w/benefits position stationed in the CFS South County office.
