The Next Five Years
Now that the General Election dust has settled and the direction of
government education policy is clearer, it is a good time to be taking stock and
looking ahead. This conference will address latest developments at national,
regional and diocesan level, especially the further development of the
Academy/Free School programme. We are keen also to further strengthen
relationships between Church School Academies and MATs and work together
to develop our strategic response.

‘Being Good News in School’
Celebrating, Resourcing & Equipping Ministry in Schools with keynote speakers;
Revd Dr Howard Worsley, Vice Principal, Trinity College Bristol and
Revd Mary Hawes, National Children’s & Youth Adviser.
Many churches and individual Christians have involvement in their local
schools, and some people, of course, are employed by them, work in them, or
are on their governing bodies. Others would like to be involved, and many
schools would like that to happen. This conference is to celebrate what is
already happening, and to resource and equip churches, schools and
individuals for ministry in schools. It is for anyone who is or might be exploring
what God is calling them to do in a school.
•
clergy, readers and other church members, with schools in their
parishes (Church, State or Independent)
•
governors and members of SACRE
•
primary and secondary teachers, heads, ‘would-be teachers’,
classroom assistants, caretakers and parents
•

Exodus to Pentecost. There will be storytelling, art, drama, music and

background to our Christian narrative.
Numbers will be limited so places will be allocated on a first come, first served
basis – four schools from each of the areas of Colchester, Barking and Bradwell.
