Haight & Associates, Inc. is an Alaska based firm providing electrical engineering
design/consulting services throughout the state since 1980. Our services vary from analyzing
problems, to planning optimum project parameters, to design and development of construction
documents and contract administration. We have a long history of involvement with harbor
projects including large and small docks/wharfs, marinas, and fueling facilities. The engineering
services provided by the firm on marina electrical systems include power distribution, shore-tie
pedestals, lighting, communications and sewage pump stations.
H&A assisted with the engineering for an 11,100 volt, 8,000 KW shore power system to the
Princess Cruise Ship landing in Juneau, the first of its kind. We developed the design for the
initial use of 480 volt distribution systems in marinas to offset excessive voltage drop to the
vessels in Juneau and Kodiak harbors. We also helped develop the installation of electronic
metering at the shore-tie pedestals enabling them to be monitored from centrally located
computers, and allowing for easier shore-tie management for transient vessels in Ketchikan
harbor. In recent years we developed float system lighting using luminares mounted to shore-tie
pedestals.
Haight & Associates is currently involved with projects to upgrade existing Ketchikan harbors,
Skagway Harbor, Douglas Harbor and Haines Portage Cove as well as assisting with new
harbors or harbor additions in Seward and Wrangell and now initiating engineering for the
Hoonah Industrial Marine Facility.

Mr. Reynolds has been engaged in the furnishing, fabrication and assembly of Treated Timber
Floating Docks since 1984. Matheus Lumber began in 1932 as a wholesaler of West Coast
Specie Lumber Products to the Construction Industry. In 2005, Matheus Lumber recorded gross
sales of $115,000,000. There are several divisions within Matheus Lumber Company, all
revolving around the Forest Products Industry.
In 1984, Mr. Reynolds initiated a Marina Division to include the bidding, takeoff and sales
execution of various marine construction projects primarily in Southeast Alaska. To date,
Matheus has successfully completed over one hundred fifty fabricated float projects in the State
of Alaska, all with 100% satisfaction by all entities involved.
Matheus Lumber compiles, fabricates and assembles these projects in our Maltby Washington
Fabrication Facility. In addition to the float projects, this yard fabricates all kinds of wood
products into value-added components such as crane mats, glue-lam bridges, trestles and
approaches, fixed docks and piers, steamship fender systems, and sold sawn trusses. This year
also applies the coating to the EPS foam billets for our float projects. All float components run
through this yard and are identified, fabricated and complied for the assembly process.
Of these 150 plus projects, around ten to fifteen projects involve a sales price from Matheus that
exceeds $500,000. A list of these projects is available and does include State of Alaska DOT

Pacific Pile & Marine, LP (PPM) is a privately held marine construction firm specializing in
bridges, pile driving, drilling for large diameter caissons, access trestles, cofferdam design and
construction, sheet pile, shoring, pile sockets, rock anchors and tie-back, dock and pier
construction, production dredging, environmental dredging, foundations and marine and heavy
civil construction services. Founded by Wilbur Clark and Eric Reichelt P.E., it has since grown
to become one of the most reputable marine contractors serving the West Coast. Pacific Pile &
Marine hosts a professional construction team coordinating an estimated $40M in annual
revenues.
PPM currently provides quality heavy civil and marine construction throughout Alaska, Montana and the
Pacific Northwest. Under the direction of Wil Clark, Eric Reichelt, Chris Willis and Mike
Mansfield, PPM is a firm believer in developing relationships aligning the interests of the
company and client with the success of the project. With offices in Seattle and Anchorage and
facilities in Kodiak, PPM is driven by a desire to maintain our reputation for producing
extraordinary results in the face of real-time obstacles delivering high degrees of value through
proven, seasoned experience.
Our team specializes in projects requiring complicated logistics, seasonal restrictions,
environmental constraints and long lead time materials. PPM principals and personnel have been
working in the Alaska market for over a decade. Due to the environmental constraints usually
required on these projects, much of our Alaska work is performed during the winter months
when the weather is most severe. These types of projects require a dedication to pre-planning, a
full understanding of the environment and excellent schedule control and logistical support.
PPM brings with it over 30 years marine construction experience and continues to diligently
develop those services with every project. Leveraging our solid base of resources, PPM
personnel have completed many heavy civil construction projects throughout the Pacific
Northwest, Montana and Alaska. With the acquisition of Lash Corporation equipment in 2009,
PPM has the capacity and knowledge set to deliver quality marine-based infrastructure
throughout North America.

R&M CONSULTANTS, INC. (R&M) is an Alaska-based company originally formed in 1969.
Since our inception, R&M has provided planning, design, and construction administration
services related to waterfront facilities for ports and harbors throughout Alaska.
Ports and harbor facilities in Alaska require special design considerations for cold weather
considerations associated with our extreme environmental conditions (e.g., extreme tides, snow
and ice loads, icing within port and harbor facilities; cold temperature effects on utility design
and seasonal versus all-season services to waterfront facilities; permafrost; seismic conditions;
etc.). R&M is experienced with designing for these challenges, as is exemplified by our staff’s
wide range of waterfront engineering project experience. R&M’s marine staff waterfront facility
