Grays Harbor College AS-T Plan for Earth Sciences, College Ready Student Name: SID: Date: H = Humanity, S = Science, SoSc = Social Science, E = Elective. TAKE 3 credits of PE! Courses that are in BOLD are offered at most twice per year. Try to take them in the term in which they appear on this sheet. You must have at least 1 H and 1 SoSc elective. See the AA degree course list in the GHC catalog. The prerequisites and/or co-requisites for some courses are listed in brackets, eg, [MATH 98 or placement] for MATH& 141. CLASS SCHEDULE Dept. You should consult with your advisor and with the school[s] you plan to transfer to when choosing your electives. 2. It’s possible to take the chemistry and physics sequences concurrently. However, it is recommended that chemistry be taken first and the physics sequence the following year. Math, chemistry, and physics are all difficult courses and it is best to avoid taking them all simultaneously if possible. 3. It’s possible to take MATH& 151 in the Fall, concurrent with PHYS& 221. But, it’s preferable to have already taken the first term of Calculus the previous Spring before starting the Engineering Physics. 4. ASTRO 101 is only offered on campus in the winter. Thus, if you want to take this course on campus you should plan to take it in the winter. 5. You should get in contact with the schools you are considering transferring to early on. Know their application for transfer process and deadlines. Keep in mind it is the Transfer School’s decision on whether or not to accept you as a student. 6. If you start in a quarter other than Fall, you will be able to pick up extra courses and possibly complete an AA degree as well as the AS-T, but due to the sequential nature of the Chemistry, Math and Physics, you will probable need two full years to complete the AS-T in Earth Sciences starting with your first Fall quarter. 7. Don’t forget to take 3 credits of PE courses. You can also use the 5-credit online course HPF 101 to meet this degree requirement.
