ST. JOHN NEUMANN
Palm Sunday is a day of heights and
depths. It echoes the high praise
with which the people of Jerusalem
welcomed Jesus Christ and plunges
us into the agony and death of the
King who reigned from a cross.
United with Him in His suffering, may we one day also
share in His Resurrection and new life.
As we reflect on the passion of Christ, we remember
that more than 44 million people in the United
States are living in poverty. While 75% of our gifts
to Operation Rice Bowl support Catholic Relief
Services’ programs around the world, 25% of our
contributions remain in our diocese to support local
hunger and poverty alleviation efforts. Your
prayers, fasting, learning, and almsgiving through
Operation Rice Bowl make a significant difference in
the lives of people in our own community and in
communities around the world.

Good Friday
Christians around the world are
united in a special way during
Lent, Holy Week, and Easter.
Our hearts, minds and prayers
are also especially aware of the
Holy Land.
Our parish, once a year on Good
Friday, is called on to support Christians in the Holy
Land. Many Christians in the Holy Land depend on the
collection for their lives.
As a pontifical collection requested by the pope, the
annual Good Friday Collection offers a direct link for
parishioners to be witnesses of peace and to help
protect the Holy Places. When you donate on Good
Friday, you are supporting Christians in the Holy Land.

Lenten Mission!!!
A GREAT BIG THANK YOU to all of you
who helped support our Lenten Mission
with Brother Mark Hilton last week. We
were able to donate $1000 to the Brothers of the
Sacred Heart thanks to your generosity. Also a
special thank you to those of you who helped serve
and make soup, bread and salad for our Lenten meals.
This year’s mission was an incredibly prayerful and
community building experience for all of us!
1st EUCHARIST RETREAT
Either Saturday, April 6th
9:00am – 12:00pm or 1:00pm – 4:00pm
Parents and children are reminded that the parentchild retreat for children preparing for the
Sacrament of First Eucharist will be held in the
Parish Hall on Saturday, April 6th. Any conflicts or
confusion over which time you pre-registered for
please give us a call. Please note that attendance at
the retreat is a necessary part of your child’s 1st
Eucharist preparation. Just a reminder, all parents
are asked to bring their child’s completed sacrament
book, their banner, any pictures from their own 1st
Eucharist experience and a healthy snack/drink to
share or an item for our food pantry. Looking
forward to seeing you all!
Women’s Ministry Team Meeting
Monday, April 8th at 7pm in the Youth
Room
We will be holding our second meeting for any women
interested in forming a Women’s Ministry Team on
Monday, April 8th at 7pm in the Youth room. It is
our hope that out of this team we may also develop
leadership and participation to help with various
faith formation and community events for the
parish. These events are not limited to women only
although certainly providing other opportunities for
women to share and grow in their faith together will
be part of the focus. Please consider joining this
new ministry team!
