SUMMARY:
Born in Pietersburg , South Africa but spent most of my life living in Pretoria.
Activities involved during school days included rugby, chess, tennis, cricket,
athletics and the "Voortrekker's"(culture club). Academic involvement was with
the "Archimedes" club (math and science). The How and Why questions and an
inquiring mind led me to choose engineering as my field of study after school.
Started with chemical engineering but prove to be to abstract and changed to the
more practical, civil engineering. After 3 years of study I felt the need to gain
practical experience in the civil engineering field before continuing. After 1
year of working I concluded that my interest in Civil Engineering was there but
my ambition was too high. The IT industry was the next field of interest that
showed to be fast developing, vast opportunities, based on knowledge and
willingness. A sound working knowledge of computers and own problem
solving as a background I started to become a Microsoft Certified Systems
Engineer (MCSE). In am currently enrolled at UNISA for B.Sc Computer
Science and Information Technologies and would expect to graduate in 2006.
I would classify myself as strong willed, visual person, continuously active
searching, an analytical detective. Introvert but easy to interact with the average
"Joe". Friendships based on equality and open hart ness. Love brain teasing
problem solving that involves lateral and creative thinking. Enjoy mind
wrestling with new ideas, especially if there is a practical side to it. Act like a
sponge for knowledge (Info junky). Best way to relax is to lath. I am not a
morning person love to sleep late and go to bed late. Would not label myself as
party animal but do enjoy an occasional bash.
Long-term goals include: Gain lots more IT related experience (UNIX, LINIX,
SQL, Exchange, Programming, C++, Visual Basic). I would prefer travel
around the world, secure income, relaxed lifestyle and standard of living, flying
airplane as a hobby, maybe marriage and children.
Short-term goals include: To achieve the long term goals sooner...now!!
