Mentorship Program Overview
Mentorship
Mentoring is a two-way mutually beneficial learning situation where the mentor functions as teacher, coach, role
model and/or guide by sharing advice, resources, knowledge, experiences, skills, perspectives, attitudes, and
proficiencies. As a mentor, you will build a new, meaningful relationship with a protégé. The relationship ideally
should be based on specific goals driven by the protégé but, it also may develop over time more informally as the
protégé requires advice from the mentor. The relationship may be structured or less formal depending on the wishes
of the two partners. The relationship should reflect the needs of both the mentor and the protégé.
