RESOURCE LIST—MULTIMEDIA
All resources for this WACE course are recommendations only and are not exhaustive. Each
school should decide on specific titles for their students in consultation with their school
community and sector guidelines.
New resources will be added as they are identified.
The recommended resources are to be used to support teaching and learning only and not as
a substitute for the syllabus; the syllabus is what is used to develop examination questions
and all teaching should be directly linked to the syllabus.

Suitable for all stages, this video consists of recent TV and cinema commercials from 26
German companies. These invite discussion on the themes of history, sports, family, housing,
technology, fashion, youth culture, festivals and customs. The pictures can often be
understood without there being a need to understand the language; therefore it is suitable for
use in beginner courses. More advanced learners can discuss the way the ads were made,
their impact and the culturally specific features of the ads. In the support materials, there is
information about the companies, the advertisements' content and text as well as worksheets
and pedagogical tips.
