These invite discussion on the themes of history, sports, family, housing, technology, fashion, youth culture, festivals and customs. The pictures can often be understood without there being a need to understand the language; therefore it is suitable for use in beginner courses. More advanced learners can discuss the way the ads were made, their impact and the culturally specific features of the ads.
